MAS tragedy

Most of us have already heard the tragic news of the MAS aircraft coming down en route to Beijing.  If there are those who wish to "put up a thought" regardless of whether they be Christian, Muslim or whatever, pray not for those whose lives have been taken asunder - all the prayers in the world won't do them a ha'peth of good, but pray for the bereaved - those whose lives will NEVER be the same again.  The only consolation - if there is one, is it must have been very, very quick, at at 1.20 a.m. local time many of them would have been asleep at the time.Man Sad

Re: MAS tragedy

All the sea 'evidence' found so far has been discounted for one reason or another.

Finally, they're turning to searching inland and I think this is where it had to have come down but in an attempt at a controlled landing at at some point, assuming the electrics were all knocked out.

There have been very distressing reports that relatives and friends could call the mobile phones of loved ones which were ringing, several hours after the plane was lost, so the signals were getting through, but the phones were then cut off.

Only after more than 24 hours were the signals not able to get through at all.

And they've now turned to people on the internet (crowdsourcing) to help try and identify any area on land that shows possible signs of wreckage.  It's on the Tomnod website.

Re: MAS tragedy

Its very Strange,,how can it just disappear. It makes it even more creepy and traumatic i think. Very odd. I have heard about the Bermuda Triangle but dont know of anywhere else that has things go off the radar like this.

Re: MAS tragedy

Planes carry multiple communication systems and without some catastrophic failure, I can't see how they could have all failed at the same time and even in the event of some complete electrical failure, the planes have a wind driven generator to provice some power.

For all the radios, the transponder systems and ground radar to somehow lose all contact at once points to a sudden catastrophe.

In the unbelievable event that all those systems were rendered inoperable but the plane was able to keep flying, there's still the questions about how other radar systems didn't "see" the plane.

Re: MAS tragedy

As yet, there's no answers, only many more questions.

As I've said elsewhere, I can't see how all the passengers and crew could have been prevented from making attempts to contact with the ground or how the plane wasn't seen on primary radar.

As to the sudden immobilisation of the occupants, the only thing that springs to mind is the sudden onset of hypoxia caused by cabin depressurisation for some reason (as has happened before).

Re: MAS tragedy

Not sure how else they could have let over 300 people have this information at the same time. If they had phoned each persons family it would have hit the media long before all the people were informed. What would be worse, hearing by text or on the media?
