Just wondering how come you all know each others names

Just wondering really when I read some of the threads on this board many of you use each other's first names.....have you met each other in real life or just "met" through the boards. I am relatively new to FHG - having started to join in in about October last year although I have been a user of Ebay for over 10 years with nearly 2000 sales. I use this posting ID as I don't want to use my "proper" account to advertise my good in case somebody takes offence and wants to trash my account (which has been known to happen) even though my "proper" account is really my old craft stuff, my sons stuff and used books.

You all appear to be ladies as well.

Any information about how you met etc etc then I would be most interested to hear.

For your information I am also a girly type - real name Jane but mostly sign off as Tintin as that is the name of my cat (who at present is sitting on my knee and purring like a goodun)

Well I know some peoples' names probably because either I've met them in real life or because at some point we've emailed or messaged each other and, not being on the boards as such, have signed our real names.

Even if I know someone's name, I don't use it on the boards unless I am certain they are happy with that.  People can find out who folk are, with a bit of personal information, even sketchy information.  Most people however have better things to do than be vindictive towards others and, if they knew all one's personal details, would not abuse that information in any way whatsoever.  But there are some strange people in our world, as we all know.

I don't mind people calling me by my first name.

lol! I have met several people on here & some are in my sewing group where we use real names occasionally. My name is in my sig so no problem there.:-D I do forget sometimes & use someone's real name on here but nobody has objected so far.;-)

I've also met a few FHGers in real life and some I've known for so long via boards/groups, I just know their names!  Hardly anyone calls me my real name in Ebayland, I'm always Dazy and even when meeting up with people, I still get called Dazy:^O

I know the names of everyone who does the secret santa because they send me their name and address.  I wouldn't use those names though, or divulge them to anyone else except the one person who sends them their gift.  If lots of people use someone's real name and they don't seem to mind, then I'll use it too sometimes.

I know a few people's names from using FHG regularly.  Some people know my real first name and I don't mind anyone using it.  Unfortunately, I've never met anyone from FHG in real life but would love to.

I know some of the names now and, like CG, will use them just so long as I know that the person doesn't mind, as I fully understand that some people don't want their real names on here 🙂

Anyone is more than welcome to use my real name which is "Mandy" or you can call me Moosie, I like both 😄

When I'm replying to posts Mandy, sometimes I call you Mandy or Moosie.  So glad that you don't mind.

I don't think anyone calls me by my real name on here, if they did I wouldn't mind but I'd probably think  "who's that 😐  before thinking ... oh its meee :^O"  ....... I'm so used to being CK 🙂

I think another reason most of us know each others name on here though is because so many of us are on FB
I think I tend to refer to everyone by there posting names mainly but for some reason I always refer to Maggie as ...... Maggie :|:^O

I've met some peeps from the boards (((((ChuffedAsNuts))))), Biker, Stroppy Cow, MonsterMunch, KezMiller and have spoken to quite a few on the phone, Huggles being one *sounds about 12yrso:^O*. My real name is Georgia and I don't mind anyone using it but I tend to be called Numpty even when we meet up:8}

I've been Wickedy for so long I've almost forgotten my real name :^O

I've met a few posters (and ex posters) in RL. 

Other people I've bought from, or been in groups with, and know their names that way.

I'm the opposite to most of you and almost never use real names even when I know them,  unless it's written as part of someone's ebay ID or in their sig tag.

Mostly it's because I've an appalling memory but also because I know some people (me included) do prefer to be known by their ID's and I'd just get way too confuddled. :_|

When Sheb first rescued Deno a whole bunch of 'Defenders' met up in Cornwall. We used each others IDs all the time, which got a tad confusing for partners and kids but seemed perfectly normal to us.:-D
