Lordy, Lordy, I'm getting bitten to death here at the moment, August is the pits as we get bitten all the time. You don't see anything though, you just feel a wee tickle and then you itch and itch.
Any natural repellants you can recommend? I did hear to eat Marmite as they don't like it, but as I don't know what "they" are (as we can't ever see anything having a nibble) I don't know if it would work.
Any ideas please?
I'll never be bored as I can just play dot to dot on meself

Try Cramming Panthotenic acid????
B Complex vits do help, as does garlic (and marmite), by making you smell less yummy and so stopping the problem at its source. I very rarely get bothered by bugs - happily thrashing about in tall grass or down in the veg plot at dusk when Mr elph gets eaten alive.
Avon skin so soft original has gone into folklore its so good. I bought some for the elderly lady I 'do' for to help keep her mozzie free during a recent holiday and she reported it worked 100%
I'd go for a combo of internal dissuaders and topical repellents....and console yourself that something considers you juicely irrisistable 😄

Have you tried asking at the chemist CB? You never know they might suggest something that hasn't already been suggested.

The only thing the chemist will advise if that's capt.bovine in post #23, is pile ointment!!!

We had frogspawn in our pond this Spring, & thought the tads wouldn't survive as it's a tiny pond & there wouldn't be enough food
Mysteriously they thrived & grew HUGE
When the pond was cleaned out ready for the Summer we found out why they hadn't started eating each other (as tads do if food is short) - the old water was a soup of midge larvae
Apparently it has been a great Summer for midges - we are plagued with the boogers & bitten to b-----y too

Oh, & we transferred the tads to a large village-green pond

Witch hazel might help for the bites but I don't know what would help with the piles!!

TCP cream or ointment will help the bites. Oh by the way, it will help with piles as well.

Sounds as if it would sting though!!
