Re: Imogen has got her first ever cold :smileysad:

She's not quiet so snotty this morning & thankfully her usual happy self but has a very rattly chest although she's coughing easily  & finds it quite funny (strange child)  she says hello  Smiley LOL
She's fine if cuddled & entertained so I guess thats my excuse to give housework a miss Smiley Wink

This is her supposedly pulling a face while having breakfast  Smiley LOL

I do believe you can get some sort of suction contraption for cleaning babies noses.  (I don't think I'd use one)  In some countries they do it .........................................well, I'll leave it to your imagination!!  Woman Surprised    Woman Sad

Re: Imogen has got her first ever cold :smileysad:

Smiley Sad poor little poppet

she always looks so happy too

if you need to help her blow her nose

get a drinking straw, and put it in your mouth

gently blow through it, into her mouth

she will automatically breathe down her nose, thus "blowing" it

no need for any suction etc

hope she is feeling much better soonheart

when I taught mine I just used to hold a tissue over my nose as if I was blowing & over exaggerate a loud blowing noise Smiley LOL
Maybe i was just lucky but they soon learnt Smiley Happy

Yes, Books ... shes getting a little grumpy now though as she's fighting giving in to sleep Smiley Frustrated

Oh well,  I'll be having the weekend off as her Mum will be driving back this evening for the weekend ......... no doubt she'll tell us off for not telling her she was ill (even though its only a cold)  but we didn't tell her as she'd worry & decided she had enough on her mind with losing her Nan

Re: Imogen has got her first ever cold :smileysad:

Teach a child to blow their nose?.  My son eventually learnt, daughter is still snorting back(saves on tissues LOL).  However Sproglet is 2 and has taught herself to blow her nose, will not allow snot to settle on face and if a baby wipe is not proffered will use any sleeve withing reach(preferably not her own).
