I won auction, seller says no longer available, how do i remove it from basket and payment req?

I won an auction, but seller is now stating that item was sold a week ago elsewhere and he forgot to remove listing; I have now found a listing on gumtree for the same day auction ended for the same item for almost 5 times as much as i won the item for! have sent into ebay the bad seller thing but i need to know how to take off the request for payment in my basket for item as i am certainly not paying for something i wont be getting!! .

thankyou for any help you can give as trying to get hold of ebay itself for this info in impossable.

i would have paid, the seller would have had to refund, and then, you could have left neg feedback to warn others!

however, if you just want to get rid of the payment request, just mark it as paid ...

you already reported the seller, so at least they will hopefully get a strike for not selling what they had advertised..

They'll also be paying the final value fees too as long as any cancellation request is denied and if the seller opens an unpaid item case, the buyer then needs to decide if they want to pay by Paypal or not.

If it's not too much money, I'd be inclined to pay for it anyway and then the seller either sends it or you open an INR when the system allows you to.
