aawww thanks guys. I'm not afraid of the op that's the daft thing.
Ed, hahaha finished work? I'm in now right up to the 23rd, last working day Sunday. OH is supposed to be working the 23rd, but our boss said he may be able to take the shift off and stay with me, he'll let us know on the day.
It will be like the whacky races in there on Sunday, but I think we should be finished before they open the shop, let's hope so, we'll be run over by mad men looking for sprouts!!

Oh lordy don't envy you Sunday, I worked last year on Sunday, I felt like I had worked a week in a day, awful people turn into demons.

See now, that's why they should never have brought in Sunday trading.
If people were in church they wouldn't be in Tesco turning it into the hottest circle of hell....
(My kind lift has told me they are never going to take me to Tesco on a Sunday ever again... not ever...)

We were only saying that today what ever happened to half day shopping and being closed on a Sunday lovely. When I finish tonight I am going nowhere near a supermarket until after Christmas.

I've had four operations on my right ankle including one when they removed said joint. I've had an arthroscopy on my left knee. I've also had another operation to have a lump of fibrous tissue removed from one of my boobs. I've also had my tonsils out and an operation on my ears when I was 11 as I had fluid on my eardrums. That's all I can think of at the moment. Methinks that I'll have to have another operation sooner rather than later on the ankle I haven't got. I'll have to see what our GP says when I see him on 30th December.
I just tend to plod on and get on with life.
Good luck for Monday CB. I'll be thinking of you. ((((((CB))))))

no Ed, no access to 'tinternet. I'll only be in a couple of days,
ooooh Chris sounds like it might be your turn next xxx
I've had my first trolley up the rear end this season, some guy pushed past and I got the trolley where the sun don't shine!!! I shouted "Oi" and he just kept on going!!!! later on he clipped the trolley...methinks he couldn't see too well...blimey I'm hooooge so I don't know how he missed me! second one was a woman hell bent on getting onto the cheese aisle.....sigh.....

I hate food shopping at the best of times but at this time of the year it is sheer hell. The number of women who will insist on taking there husbands to the innards of a supermarket baffles me.

when we went in today there was an old couple argueing in the veg section, she was getting onions and i heard her say ' yes its all about you, its always about you'
i stood contemplating how many sprouts to buy with another woman, she said she had persuaded he r hubby to eat at least 3 this year lol
good luck caPt
have you got your wheelie chair organise for inside?
but remember not to do too much

I've got my nightie out and the only other thing I'm ready to pack is a wee tin with 3 mince pies in and a packet of crispsgetting my priorities right!
I've a wheelchair I borrowed last time to shuffle around the house in.
Just heard today they've got novovirus in the hospital!!!!! hopefully that will mean they'll be keen to get rid of me,

Maelor has been struck down with it for a couple of days CB and I know they are stopping some new admittances so hope they have it sorted by the end of the weekend for you
21-12-2013 8:44 PM
Glad to see you have got your priorities sorted CB. Hope that you can have the hoof done Monday.
21-12-2013 9:50 PM
Priorities?!!! nighties, mince pies?!!! It would be books in our family. Most outpatients appointments rate 2, in patient stays at least a carrier bagful. BIL was unexpectedly detained at our local hospital the other weekend(in the clothes he stood up in!). Once we heard an emergency kit was assmbled and delivered - first thing in was the book!. Odd thing is the towel, baby wipes etc have made their way back - the book has been kept LOL

Guardpig - I know what you mean about the book - could not live without the KIndle - hundreds of books in less than the space of one "real" book! I always pack the mains charger for the kindle. In the days before kindle the windowsill of my hospital room always had about 20 to 30 books on it.
I always take my long - handled grabber gadget with me - can be a real life saver as when they have left the call button fastened to the wall I can use it to press the call button.
My other useful item is a wide - neck thermos flask, I can get the staff to fill it with ice and the water is much more palatable if it is really cold. If my mouth is really dry it can be good to suck an ice cube.
Hope all goes well Captain and that you are back home quickly.
