This morning there was a serious accident on the local main road about 8 miles away and the road has been closed ever since, so all the traffic is coming through the village, it is either stationary or driving like T***s, two motor bikes have just gone through the village at at least 60mph, speed limit is 30, obviously they have got very frustrated at the traffic, but my god someone else is going to get killed if they are not carefull.

It really annoys me when that happens. Some people have no sense. There's a stretch of road in town that goes from a set of lights to a roundabout. The road is a dual carriageway and vehicles speed up on the right hand side and they are actually turning left at the roundabout. The number of times I've nearly had the front of the car taken off is ridiculous. I just wish that people would be a lot more patient.

Thats awful,,, i wonder just how much sense people possess when driving. theres an entrance to a car park oppossite my flats and i had a road accident when my ex was driving when cars come out without looking and people dash round a corner and come up past the entrance at breakneck speed!!.. We were going up the road and a car came out and shunted us across the road. Thankfully we were not injured at all but the car my side( my ex was driving) was bashed in and the car was a write off. So i know what you mean,, they have no care or thought for mothers and prams, children or older people crossing a road either!!. Its maddening.

A while back, a young girl with her youngster of about two cut in front of me at a roundabout. I had to slam on and I'll leave it to your imagination what her reaction was. Why aren't the police around when you need them?
Another incident I came across was when I was driving along a dual carriageway with traffic lights at the end. I was in the left hand lane driving behind an elderly chap. The lights had just changed to red and the chappy decided to go through after dithering for a bit. There were not one but two police cars on our right. Needless to say, the first one did stop the chappie and rightly so. He could have caused a serious pile up at a busy junction.

Kristal - maybe you already know - but 'steaming' as a usage for being drunk came from going for a sail on one of the many boats that plied the Clyde on a Sunday. It was the only place you could get a drink on a Sunday because the all the pubs were shut.

Should have said - on the steamboats that plied the Clyde - colloquially known as 'goin doon the watter'.

Perhaps I should have headed the post something other than steaming, mind you that would have applied last Friday night, oh dear.

Hey you little Raver Ed!!!!

Never knew that Rainy! Actually have a mate on the rally circuit who uses "steamboats" to describe himself after a day on the beer

We've been out and I had to come along the stretch of road that I mentioned in a previous post. Not only did a car nearly take the front of my car off but a van driven by, wait for it, a Police Scientific Support officer!!!!!!!!! He didn't seem to be in any great rush to go anywhere but he must have thought that his van quite fancied the idea of taking the front off my car. It does annoy me.
