How was the weather last night for you? Being in the East Midlands we were told to batten down the hatches. However we had torrential rain, but there doesn't appear to be any damages to houses/trees etc when I went out earlier in the car. Seems like we got away with it relatively lightly although there are flood warnings in other parts of the East Midlands. There is quite a breeze outside but nothing to what I was expecting.
I did make sure that the cat was inside last night. He wasn't too happy, but I was happy knowing that he was inside and safe.
In fact as I write the sun is out, the sky is blue and the clouds are skudding across the sky. I was wearing a jumper earlier but have taken that off now as inside is not too cold at all.
I was going out again later in the car to the library, but I think it is good enough to walk instead.

We ended up loosing some fence panels here and the neighbors shed roof is in our garden. And where our bbq cover has gone no one kniows. There was a new hotel being build near town, who lost their roof and apparently on the other side of the road a wall fell down, so that caused caos on one of the main roundabouts. We didn't venture out to see if there was anymore damage. Now need to see if we can get the fence panels replaced tomorrow.

If the papers are to be believed then this Saturday it is the north's turn.
Everywhere from Birmingham up.
Here we go again!

It was even worse here than I thought. The pictures in the paper of lorries and a bus blown over, trees on cars and houses and many of the roads are still blocked by trees. My daughter finally got her power back at 10 this morning.
Let's hope it's not so bad if it goes 'oop north'!

I think that I've mentioned before that one of our neighbours has a leylandii in their back garden. I just hope that it doesn't blow down.

A Leylanii wouldn't do much harm books because it doesn't really have any branches and the trunk gets narrower the taller it grows. It could still break a window or two but not much structural damage. It would still give you a scare though!

I didn't realise that CG but it is a small garden so hopefully, if it does get blown down, it won't do too much damage.
