How was last night for you ????

How was the weather last night for you? Being in the East Midlands we were told to batten down the hatches. However we had torrential rain, but there doesn't appear to be any damages to houses/trees etc when I went out earlier in the car. Seems like we got away with it relatively lightly although there are flood warnings in other parts of the East Midlands. There is quite a breeze outside but nothing to what I was expecting.

I did make sure that the cat was inside last night. He wasn't too happy, but I was happy knowing that he was inside and safe.

In fact as I write the sun is out, the sky is blue and the clouds are skudding across the sky. I was wearing a jumper earlier but have taken that off now as inside is not too cold at all.

I was going out again later in the car to the library, but I think it is good enough to walk instead.

Everything was fine in our area not as expected, very windy and a lot of rain but nothing out of the ordinary, tI was bad in the South of the county.  Still raining here now and blowy but whats new.  I think we were lucky.

Been out with the dogs, got wet but it wasn't cold or too windy.

Don't know how it missed you Grumpy! lol It was bad here with trees down & sheds flying about. Main road into Weymouth still closed but my Asda delivery has got through! lol Noisiest night ever!

It didn't seem like much here (south London) either - but two people have died, a 17 year girl and a 50 year old man - both killed by falling trees.  Such a waste.

We're in West London. Horrendous rain all night & severe wind (& for once not my hubby)
In the early hours right through until about 9.00 this morning. No damage here but trees & walls down in nearby streets.

Weird, isn't it? I'm probably less than 15 miles away from you, but the wind didn't wake me.  There was a lot of rain earlier, though.

Maidstone its not as bad as expected but lots of trees around my flats and a few branches snapped off and few in the road. Its blowy and sunny now and then at the moment.!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I think the noise if the wind woke me (at stupid o'clock, not fair as I'm on leave today), because our small road leads from a park & acted as a wind tunnel. Also probably didn't help that I like the window slightly open & I'm s very light sleeper.

We've just got our power back.

We had a very peaceful night but at 8am until 8.30 all hell broke loose!!!  That's all it was, half an hour but what  ride!!

No power, no TV, no phone, no fence, no shed, no trees, no through road, no buses, no trains, no Orwell bridge and  and no rain!!

They're all ok thanks Maggie. With it not happening until eight o'clock they were all up and out.  I didn't notice any being catapulted over the roof anyway!

I just walked Damson down to my little beach & was thinking it's not too bad until I turned the corner! It nearly took Damson off her paws! Bracing in the extreem! lol

It's been a bit blowy here but not as bad as I thought it would be here but the weather forescasters said it wouldn't be has bad here on Merseyside as it would be in southern England.  We have had quite a few heavy showers and sunny intervals as well.

all it's done here is rain rain and more rain!! I hope Stan's OK with her dingle and it didn't flood her house.

there is hardly any wind here at all, not through the night either!

Must admit that it's not been as bad as I thought it would have been.  I too hope that Stan's alright and that she's not been flooded.  One of my cousins lives in south Wales.  Her husband's Irish and they went to Ireland on Friday and they are supposed to be coming back today.  Saw on the news this morning that the ferries across the Irish Sea had been cancelled.  Off to email my cousin now to see how she is.

Sounds as though it was a bit hit and miss everywhere,

Main thing everyone is fine.

Sad about the people who died, but the way the weathermen were talking it could have been more.

They're just saying on the news, Suffolk and Essex got the worst of it.  80mph. winds.  There's a lot of structural damage and vehicles (including a double decker bus) were blown over.  My daughter, just down the road from me has lost some big trees and they still have no power.

Just got an email from my cousin from South Wales and she managed to get back alright.

Hope that your daughter has her power restored soon CG.
