How far back do you remember in FHG and the community spirit ...

I remember once (not sure who it was for), a lady in here with a very ill little boy (I think) whose only real contact with the outside world was her computer as she had her hands full looking after him.

She was having computer problems and was not sure how much longer she could stay in contact with her friends in here and everyone chipped in what they could afford to buy her a new computer to allow her to continue contact and have the support all her friends in here wanted her to have.

Now in my opinion that was the real community spirit of here that once was and when FHG lived up to its name of Family ! Some lovely, warm, kind, caring and generous people that stepped up when one of the community family needed help.

I remember Numpz and Loon3y, Mouse and MrsRatbag, the ever-fabulous Merlin and equally fabulous Maggie, CaptBovine, ChickenGrandma, Elph, Gothic, Fishpie, Tortie, Mustard, Ginap, Petery (as some of us called him!), Brynteg, Shonafp,  and absolutely dozens more.. and I know I'll be kicking myself when I hit 'post' that I've remembered a few more and not named them.  My memory is shocking sometimes.  This thread is a real blast from the past.

BarefootBiker, that lovely lady... I really do need a memory pep pill! Biker is the lady who pretty much single-handedly arranges lunch for the elderly in her community every Christmas. Fabulous, incredible lady, she really is.

I'm still here... and yes I do still have a flappy hat.  Said hat was even in a couple of pictures in the local rag recently.... well, it was raining when they did the pictures!  If you Google "Epsom ticket office protest" you might just find the pictures...

What a lovely trip down memory lane with posters names that were part of my daily life - until the boards got messed up, hard to find FHG now.

I've been about since 2003 and had reason more than once to be so grateful for the support of friends here, some who I'm lucky enough to have as real life friends too.

Once someone says the old names I remember most of them, I remember a lot of the topics mentioned too, but I wouldn't know which story belonged to which poster!

I still pop in and out but most of us still catch up daily on FB  so no need to come in so often
