Oh no CD, don't like the last 2
I remember dancing the slosh at the Bowls club to 'Beautiful Sunday', used to go on a Sunday night with my parents, and all the women would get up.
How about some Paul Simon - or Queen, whom I forgot to include in my list.

Oh I like, CD ordered. A bit Springstein meets bluegrass meets Gram Parsons, lol. Thank you.
Also ordered John Martyn, my CD is ruined from being played so much. May you never lay your head down, without a hand to hold...........OMG perfection.

Smashing, thank you Cee Dee. My son could sing that from when he was about 3. It was on a tape (remember those) I had made up and played in the car. Also Brown Eyed Girl, Yellow Submarine, Mellow Yellow and lots of others too. The CD came up as a recommendation when I was ordering Stevie Earle last night, I look forward to it very much and will let you know.
Poor John Martyn, another one dead way too early.

One of John Martyn's comtemporaries, who didn't even make it into the 27 club, was Nick Drake

OOOOOOOh Cee Dee, think I owe you a big favour. Been doing a bit of research and listening on Y**toob, Guitar Blues, Galway Girl, don't think I'll be stopping at one album! Read along the way that some folks call his music 'outlaw country'- I can live with that. Must be the Irish in me.
At Dylan's 30th anniversary concert there were NO Yankees, just good ole' country boys from the South, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, EmmyLou, so many more and a few Brits, Clapton and George Harrison. He don't do Yankees. Rarely plays anything by them on his Radio shows. I've only been to Savannah and the Carolinas and it is beautiful beyond measure.

He wasn't really successful in his lifetime RDW, sold less that 5000 of each of the 3 albums he recorded, A fragile young man,
This one was written by one of my favourites, Elvis Costello. for Robert Wyatt and he said it was the best version of the song, even better than his own! Probably the first person in a wheelchair to perform on ToTP, although this is from th Old Grey Wooly Vest Whistle Test

Spent a great night in a pub in Bradford with this man. After the gig I was invited to the lock in because I had been chatting with him about a guitar piece. Bought a copy of whatever album he had at the time, and he bought me several beers, followed by even more whisky! Stumbled out of the pub about 4 in the morning!

And last one ( for tonight!) A richard Thompson song by one of my favourites

This is great - when Maggie comes back she'll have a blue fit - country and western and all sorts. I have to go early tonight feeling garbage. I know all about Hamish Imlach - he was a very, very naughty, boy, lol. Played the folk clubs all around Glasgow. Billy Connolly **kiss kiss** cites him as an influence.
I'll listen to your songs tomo WSK - big kiss n night for Onions X.
