Has anybody had poor experience with Hermes delivery methods?

 Has anybody had similar experience of Hermes delivery company, in so far as they do not bother to leave any notice in letterbox or send email about failed delivery attempts?

I sent my aunt a box of designer clothing and jewellery and it 'disappeared'.  I would not use them again if you paid me.

However, out local Hermes delivery man is faultless and completely reliable.

I sent a parcel to Kate on the 3rd & it still hasn't arrived. First time I have had a problem though.

My Hernes can be quite random in my experience as the couriers get sick and leave, so quite a high turnover and no consistancy.

My parcels have always got through, but anything from 3 - 6 days.

I hate their website for booking parcels. Often comes up as a fault, but the booking has gone through.

My main problem is with my Drop off shop - pick up of parcels is very erratic, Can be 10am one day and 4pm the next, and some days they aren't collected at all. I once dropped a parcel on Friday and it was still there on Tuesday!

My regular Hermes driver is great, lovely guy, as was the one he took over from. However he has refused to do the regular Sunday deliveries, which I don't blame him for in the slightest.

I recently had a situation where I got an email confirmation of a delivery being put through my letter box on a Sunday when it hadn't. Monday morning a very nice lady came to my door with said parcel which she had picked up in the road some distance from my address. Apparently she had witness the driver drive off with his van doors open. He only noticed this when his door hit another vehicle, he got out and shut the doors but missed the fact my parcel was lying in the road having fallen out!

I assume he got to the end of his shift and couldn't account for my delivery so lied about putting it through the door. Thanks goodness for the honesty of the lady who found it. Needless to say I reported all this to the company my parcel was from so they could lodge a complaint with Hermes.

Did the woman also report them for any damage to the other car?

Quite disgraceful but just as shockingly, I'm not suprised.  I won't use them and have had to shop elsewhere when sellers insist on using them becuase they do blatantly lie, 'lose' stuff and misdeliver to an appalling degree where I am.

I recently had a parcel left by a Hermes courier that wasn't for me.  I came home from work one evening to find that a Hermes courier had left a parcel at my house, despite the fact that the address was clearly legible on the front of the package and should have been delivered to a house 150 yards up the street!  If the addressee wasn't in why not either take it back to the depot or leave the parcel with a next-door neighbour with a card left at the addressee's house stating what had happened to the parcel?  The addressee got her parcel eventually, but it shouldn't have fallen to me to find a total stranger's parcel purely by chance and then have to walk 150 yards up the street in the evening just to deliver a parcel to somebody I've never even met!  I suppose the moral of the story here is that if you want a professional service and you don't want to take the risk of your parcel getting lost - and possibly claimed by somebody who should never have received it - then don't use Hermes.

As a seller I wouldn't use Hermes (or Yodel) they take too long to deliver. Not many Hermes deliveries and I actually ask sellers if it is possible to send by Royal Mail instead as at our previous address they would throw parcels over the fence at the weekend and they would be there in pouring rain until Monday morning.

Having moved, I have found the Hermes man is very nice but I am here all the time so no idea if he would leave stuff outside but if he did it would be fairly safe here, however he does sign for them for me. I know he is being helpful but if I wasn't in I do wonder what would happen.

Yesterday I took something in for a neighbour which I think was delivered by Hermes, a young girl in a hire van, she said not to worry she would sign for it and off she went.

Have a look on the buying and selling forums, there are lots of threads on there about Hermes, and mostly bad.

I don't know if she did or if the owner of the vehicle did  aernethril, but I mentioned it in my message to the company I had ordered from. I also told my regular courier what had happened and he was pretty shocked by the other driver's behaviour too.

I was so flabbergasted by what had happened I didn't even think to ask the lady's name, just kept profusly thanking her for being so thoughtful in delivering my parcel to me

I am waiting for 2 parcels via My Hermes.

One said it was out for delivery today - no parcel

The other is in transit but hasn't been updated since 9th.

Of the 2 received this week, one was deivered normally and I was asked to sign for it. Today was the same man, I opened the door to find him bringing in the wheelie from the street (bin day) and he was going to put the parcel in it. This time he said don't worry he would sign for it, I suspect he already had done.

I consider mysef lucky that I was here and that I know how they deliver stuff but one day it won't be plain sailing.

Parcel dropped off Thursday - still at drop point following Tuesday

Delivery failed, second delivery had wrong date on so also failed. Third delivery attempt was to wrong address

when asked, help desk said post codes looked similar -tho entirely address different 

went back to hub, showed it out for delivery - was told it was inaccurate - actually item lost in their system 3 months with much wasted effort

I have had 5 My Hermes deliveries. Well 3 with either no card or illegible card or one completely covered in coffee purporting to be a Next delivery.  They abandoned 2 in our secure porch - it isn't.  the third I saw the van arrive and went towards the door,  the card being delicately pushed through the letter box, waited for it to fall, whipped out and demanded to know what he thought he was doing, made him pick it up, hand it to me and demanded to sign for it.  He hadn't knocked, he had no intention of delivering it to me, just of dumping it in the porch!.  The 4th - the company I ordered from refunded me as it wasn't delivered to me.  The 5th was actually delivered by somebody who held the parcel out and grunted then held the machine out and grunted again.  Now while I do know some people swear by them I certainly am not risking the reputation of my business using them if they cannot deliver to me in a professional and timely fashion.

Now here is how it is done.  Truck pulls up, guy says he has a delivery, I open up the shed(wouldn't fit in the house) and call my son to get his shoes on, driver manhandles package off(all 12 foot of it) and deposits it carefully in my shed, then thanks me for being in and goes on his way.  

Then there's a couple of van drivers who insist on putting the parcels inside for me if they consider they are too heavy for me.  Another one treats all parcels as if they are his babies. The guy who delivers to me before 8am because he knows I will be in(curlers probably) My favourite was the really grumpy arctic driver who had given up even trying to park and unloaded in the middle of the road blocking all traffic - I did enjoy his deliveries, he always was happy to unload, stack and chat:-).

If I know somebody is using MyHermes I do not order from them.

Needless to say, no parcels.

Contacted my sender who contacted My Hermes.

The courier may be ill or have broken down.

There is no time limit for the courier to deliver (they have had it for 2 days now)

If it doesn't turn up tomorrow, let them know.

I ordered a clock on line yesterday for my daughter & it has just been delivered by My Hermes.

Nobody googled then! I know you can get all sorts of reviews if you google but I put that because in that particular case the courier left the parcel on the roof of the house!
