Hallmark help!

Does anyone know anything about hallmarks? I'm selling an old pocket watch, and I'm struggling to decide what year it is from. I know it is a London mark, but is it 1790, 1810 or 1830? manufacturer isn't any help as he was active between 1780 and 1840. Any experts out there?

You can go to google and google silver hallmarks ....the " p "is the date but you do need to look carefully at the font as this is what should accurately pin point the date ... different years have different fonts ...

My silver marks book puts it as possibly 1730. Could be 1810 though.

Thanks for the replies. Ive been using  www.925-1000.com  and realise I can  discount 1830 as the leopard has a crown so it is pre 1822.  The case appears correct for the watch which dates to around 1780 -1840 so that leaves me with 1790 or 1810. ( It also has a soverigns head but that only puts it between 1784 and 1890 so not much help!)

I'm leaning towards 1790 as it has a more rounded top than the 1810.

Unless someone knows better!
