I'm going there not for long just for a couple of days next month!
Does anyone have any advice about nice places to go/visit/eat while there?
I'm going with one of my friends from my yoga class. We are staying in a chalet in Scratby which is owned by a relative of one of my neighbours in the flat.
Just looking forward to having a nice break by the sea 🙂
Thank you in advance for any information x

forgot to say
there is a walk in medical centre in great yarmouth town centre, that has a pharmacy too i think
hard to describe where but its near the car park behind kings street
the hospital is the james paget in gorleston, main road out of town, the A12
late night chemists are supposed to be the boots one at gapton hall shopping centre
but the 24hr asda and 24 hr tesco extra both have pharmacys but i cant say if they dispense very late
i suppose local police have the duty chemist on their system, we use the 101 phone number for non urgent calls in norfolk
if you are thinking of going into norwich its the lord mayors parade weekend and some roads are shut

Ahhh, I had such a lovely time. I can't wait to go back 🙂
The journey there was ok, apart from Thetford area which slowed us down due to major road works. We left Stevenage about 11.15 and arrived about 3pm.
We were delighted how close we were to the sea. We stayed in Scratby and the beach was a 5 min walk. We didn't do much on Friday apart from find the beach, watch a bit of tennis and sunbathe at the chalet park.
I had a most handsome fish finger bap lol which was delicious!
Saturday morning we caught the 9.30 bus from up the road (California caravan park) into GY. It was already roasting hot and the place was rammed. We pottered around and found some nice little side streets and interesting shops. We bought 2 dressed crabs and 2 large bits of hot smoked salmon from a lovely seafood stall in the market, we also got tomatoes and a lovely soft loaf from the market (lunch!!). We then went back on the 12.30 bus collected the wine box from the chalet lol and went straight to the beach. We stayed there till about 7 - it was only us and the fishermen by that time! We went back sat outside the chalet and played cards and dominoes (last of the ravers!!).
On Sunday we went back to the beach early. We decided to not go back at 1pm and instead stay and watch the Wimbledon final so we ended up leaving about 6. This also gave us time to hoover and tidy the chalet.
Gosh the time went so quick. The beach was just divine. Quiet with just a few families and couples. Had a paddle but not a swim!
GY was further away than we had thought but going on the bus was fun and we will spend more time there next time.
Read up on where to visit next time. I'm sad it went so quick. We already planning to go back in September.
So in short it was a bit of a lazy break. Next time we will do much more now we have found our feet. The weather was absolutely perfect. It was hot but a constant breeze kept the temperature blissful.
I got back home at 10pm last night. We sang along to Abba all the way home with the windows down. First time I'd done a girly break and a landmark hols for me since I split with my ex. It felt like a real adventure! It was one of the best weekends of my life 🙂
I will be returning for more ice-cream, seafood and sunshine very soon. Thank you to all who posted :-x

This is the chalet we stayed in. It was very comfortable and cosy and only 5 mins walk from the beach. The father of one of my neighbours owns it. There is also a swimming pool on site. There were some chalets for sale which got me thinking….!! I might start saving up!

Iam the one in the hat, I'm with my friend Linda, we met at yoga class about a year ago.
We both have Fibromyalgia (yucky illness a bit like Chronic Fatigue and ME).
We asked a random passing lady on the beach to take the photo.
