Good Friday tea.

A break with tradition we are having chilli with nachos, salsa and sour cream. Everybodys favourite here.

Re: Good Friday tea.

We didn't feel like much so we just had salmon sandwiches.

Re: Good Friday tea.

Luckily you must have well synchronised stomachs in your house or one of you would have starved with just sarnies for tea

Same as me then. Soup for tea and then possibly cheese on toast before bed

Re: Good Friday tea.

I'm doing Slimming World SP week this week so it's all fruits/veg and protein but I have to have a serving of calcium high and fibre high food so cheese on wholemeal toast covers that and fills a gap.
Missing my carbs though as I love pasta rice etc as part of my meal.

Re: Good Friday tea.

I have quite a high carb diet. Not so much potatoes but pasta, rice & bread are my downfall!

Mine as well Mags, which is why I have to do an SP week now and then to give the weight loss a boost. Want to lose another stone by the time I go away in June.

Re: Good Friday tea.

I'm naughty on potatoes, and I have bread about 5 days out of seven but it's very rare I eat pasta or rice.

For tea I had cod, naked and marrowfats and he had fish fingers, naked and marrowfats.  He has jelly with fruit in and I might have an icecream  (or two).

Re: Good Friday tea.

I'm the opposite. Very rarely have bread or potatoes but tend to have a pasta or rice dish at least 4 times a week. Could be homemade meatballs with spaghetti, spicy chilli prawn pasta, beef curry and a paella, which is more typical for me.

Re: Good Friday tea.

Mushroom soup -  might have been sort of o.k. if it had been hot, but it was barely warm and pretty hick and gloopy.

Traditional here so I made some beer batter for cod loin steaks with chips, peas and a lemon wedge

Re: Good Friday tea.

It's a tradition with us that we never have meat on Good Friday.  Mind you, we always have salmon on a Friday anyway.

Re: Good Friday tea.

I did cod loin, first covered in tartare sauce, then egg and breadcrumbed, it's lovely. Had with mash and beans.
