Any idea how many pansies to put in an 8 inch hanging basket, want it to look full but not overcrowded

A general rule of thumb when planting a hanging basket is to use one plant per inch of basket diameter - so 12 plants per 30cm (12") hanging basket. 8 for an 8 inch etc.
I always put plenty in as I don't think you can ever overcrowd a hanging basket and winter pansies tend to be smaller.

Thanks guys I put in 8 so thats ok then,
Job done back in doors now and making a coffee before cooking tea.
