Anybody know what the parking at Great Ormond street is like on a Saturday?

Thanks

Almost impossible this time of year.

Nearest car park is Brunswick Square, Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AF.  Costs £19.10 per day.

About a 10 minute walk from the hospital.

Thanks Soppy.  Hasn't the hospital got a car park?  Will check that one out.  Cost is not an object as expenses are being paid though I doubt parking fines will be LOL.

Would prefer to use public transport but that is just not possible.  Expect to be there for less than half an hour!

Do not forget to apply for the CC.

According to London Transport the CC does not apply at the weekends. Do we have to register anyway?.

Was more worried about emissions as it's big and old but have checked and we are showing as OK.

Thanks, interesting maps - hadn't had much time to Google.  OH already getting nervous as he hasn't driven in London for over 10 years and that was a nice big lorry!.

No you don't have to register for a weekend.

If you haven't diven in London for 10 years I think you're going to be in for a shock, as it is far worse than it used to be and the Euston Road area is very, very busy all of the time. More so at the moment close to Christmas.

GOSH has quite limited parking too and weekends the car park is always busy.

Personally I wouldn't even consider driving there, and I am in that area of London on a very regular basis, why is public trasport not an option?

Because although son could probably manage the train one look at Waterloo Station with all it's noise and bustle will have him keeling over.  He'd never manage the  escalators to the underground and taxis are reluctant to transport anybody the shade green he'd be by the time he got across to the taxi rank. OH is driving, not me.

Our City is currently gridlocked due to roadworks and most drivers seem to have become totally irrational of late so he should feel right at home.

Sorry about the mention of the CC... I didn't notice it was a Saturday.... You don't need to do anything..

Confirming  you don't need to do anything re CC.

Get in very early and it's doable.Leave lots of time.

There's currently a crackdown on drivers entering cycle boxes and junctions, and other forms of anti cyclist behaviour btw, both manually and using cctv, especially on major routes in.

Thank you all.  Just discovered you can book a car park spot at one of the nearest car parks so have taken a punt at it.

OH will manage gridlock just fine. I like navigating in traffic jams - it gives you more time to work out where you are and persuade the gentleman driving that he is going THAT!!! way or else.

Price of train tickets + taxi if he was still fit enough would be prohibitive this time of year - we did check.

Update:  Car parks were empty, area very quiet, if we'd known how long we were going to be there were even on street spaces available.  Do not regret having booked and would do so again.

Only problems were navigating the west ends one way system on the way home - the feed right we needed(and google said we did) was a bus only lane so we went round in circles twice before trying an alternative route to get to Knightsbridge and main road out!.

Successful day.

Thanks for all your help and advice.
