Things may be looking up for autistic people with IT skills.

This already happens in some way by default, I think
OH's firm mainly recruits mathematicians & they all seem to be somewhere on an autistic spectrum
That is not to say that they are clinically diagnosed or unable to function 'independently' (as our nephew is unable to do) but there are a range of typical behaviours, ranging from repetitive/obsessive actions, communication difficulties, perception peculiarities - through to one guy who sits under his desk in the 'footwell' whenever he is contemplating a problem
He spends a large amount of his time tucked under there!! Everyone is accepting

It does sound like they are prepared to make it possible for people with ASD with lower fuctioning life skills to use high level intelligence.if they have the right skills.
Wiz you're not wrong, but for those without the skills to independantly organise and maintain all parts of life and work, there's so little.

Not a lot out there for those with multiple interacting conditions.
Son designed a our website entry database - it will not let you do anything you shouldn't and instructs you when and when not to click buttons!. It is simple and easy to use but time consuming.

You'd think these days a great deal could be done "down the wire", so that the lack of life skills wouldn't matter so much. The problem is persuading employers to use people in this country rather than "down the wire" to halfway round the world.

Ah yes but sometimes people phone up which means interaction.
It is good to see appreciation of strengths as well as weaknesses.
