I am having mushroom stroganoff and rice for my tea. Teenager is having bacon and sausage cobs,
When I went shopping earlier I managed to get braising beef, minced beef, pork shops and diced lamb in the reduced section (all half price) so they are all in the freezer now. I sighed with relief as when I looked this morning there was no meet whatsoever in the house.

Pulled pork (CG & Patch) that I cooked on Saturday in sliders with rocket/watercress salad & coleslaw.

Why don't you just call it a pork sandwich?????
And while I'm here, 'pan fried steak' is there something else apart from a pan that you would fry steak in? Should I get one cos I just fry my steak in a frying pan. Am I doing it wrong?

I know what pulled shredded pork is but what the heck are sliders?
I am having Lamb Chops.

Sliders are just small buns for sandwiches ( think shrunken midget bap LOL)
beef stew and dumplings for us

Theoretically you could have deep-fried steak but I for one wouldn't want to try it
14-10-2013 4:32 PM
Steak, home-made chips, peas, fried mushrooms, and a dollop of Bearnease sauce for a bit of flavour
Maybe syrup sponge and custard to follow (should have had Black Forest gateau then it would have been like a good old Berni meal!)
14-10-2013 4:36 PM
Could be grilled rather than pan fried.
14-10-2013 4:49 PM
I didn't ask the alternative to pan fried, I asked the alterative to 'PAN' fried.

LOL No, no chicken is harmed in the making of Chicken Fried Steak. LOL You fry the steak like you fry chicken...... Think of KFC coating on a steak instead of a chicken. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_fried_steakhttp://

I don't think you're doing anything wrong by using a frying pan but you could use a griddle instead if you wanted to invest in an iron one that weighs a ton lol.

or is it the chicken who is frying the steak, now there's a thought
