I am well and truly pee'd off with fireworks going off yet again, terrifying my little dogs! This is the 8th night in a row we have had to put up with it and these ones are very near to the house. Wasn't there supposed to be a crackdown on letting fireworks off like this, or is it just another law that has no clout?

Have had bang-bang-bang every night for well over a week, really loud last night and this morning I found a used rocket on my doorstep when I went to put the bin out. Sick to death of them.

Didn't know about the petition before, but have just signed it; let's hope it has some effect for next year! Don't want this palaver again.

I wasn't aware of the petition, and have signed it.
Could you post it on the forum as a seperate thread please for more to see?
Do you like my snub nosed monkey?
Don't think rude thoughts; it's the cute thing on the left...

I signed that petition last week.
We had even more fireworks earlier on. It's bad enough on bonfire night but for it go on so long, it's ridiculous. The people who let these fireworks off have no thought or consideration for anyone else.

The Weymouth page on Facebook has just announced a huge display just up the road from me on Saturday night!

Maggie, why do they need a firework display so long after bonfire night? I feel sorry for Damson as she will not be happy about it will she? It is stupid as they are not considering animals are they?

I asked that on the page but have had no reply so far.

It is dreadful here I have 2 Huskys, one is ok but my other 9 yr old has been petrified for a week. It has been so bad we had to put a blanket under the stairs so he can go and hide, he has been panting crying and vomiting. There should be a law that fireworks can only be used on 5th November and thas it ,certainly not a week before and a week after..

Just to add a futher note that in the UK everything is Health and Safety orientated and yet most fireworks recommend a distance of 25 metres...how many of us have 25 metre gardens....food for thought.

We've had some more fireworks going off tonight, youngest dog is hiding again! What is the matter with these people? Thinking of you Maggie, you must be really fed up now.

Oldest dog has just disapeared upstairs, fireworks going off again across the road. Just checked the date 16th November grrrrrrrrrr

Must admit that it's been quiet here for the last few nights. I feel for people who have animals who are scared stiff of fireworks.

We no longer have our dog, he died in August :,-(
He was really really afraid of fireworks when he was indoors, but if they went off whilst we were out on a walk, bizarrely he took no notice
In his final year he no longer heard them at all. Although his lack of distress was a relief, we knew then that he was fading 😞
Tonight, we have had fireworks going off ALL evening. I happen to love firework displays, but you can have too much of a fun thing grrrr

Yes, that was the same with me when Poppy's hearing was going; there was always the worry that the fireworks could trigger a fit, so it was a relief when her hearing was going in that sense, but also sad because I knew what was coming.
Thankfully the fioreworks last night didnt last; hope that's it now until New year's Eve midnight.
