Face book.

I don't understand face book and never will, but can someone answer a question please.  Down the bottom right hand corner is a tab that says chat.  When that's clicked it pops up with some names on.  Some have green dots next to them and some have little squares with times next to them.  What do these squares with times mean please?

I think the times are when they last posted. Friends with a green dot next to their names are available to chat.Friends with a gray moon next to their names are available but inactive.Friends with no icon next to their names are unavailable.

yes i agree with patch the dots are those online and may chat with you and the little squares with numbers is the last time they were on facebook.never seen a grey moon on mine.:-)

Yes dotted people are online and the time is when messages are posted.
