I have heard about them before they look beautiful but i wonder what impact they have had on the native bird population?

For those who like tall ships, a little one. Looked for it when the other threads were posted but it finally popped up on the screensaver!. Son was miffed because he didn't get the masts in but I thought he was lucky to get the boat in the way we were corkscrewing around.

re the parakeets, there are currently 20,000 in the uk and that is expected to rise to 50,000 in the next 10 years. When we have a nice day I have about 2,000 of them sitting in the trees just outside my garden for 10-15 mind before they go to bed in hither green cemertry.

I think this is a Bullfinch, not sure! However, he was quite happy for me to get very close to take his piccy!
great photos and thanks for the advice. These were taken with my Fuji F10 but yesterday I treated myself to the Nikon D60. I think I got a good 'bundle' price plus Nikon are doing a spring cash back offer so I should get £90 back. It came with a couple of lenses so I'm off down the beach to experiment with it this afternoon.
