Mary, saw your question on t'other thread it was the photo course yesterday, had a great time but I was shattered driving home. I have over a 1,000 pics to go through so will be posting a few hopefully later today when I get a bit of time.

I really enjoyed the whole day but found the studio time very interesting as it was the first time I had taken pics in a studio environment. On quick examination the results are stunning (even if I do say so myself) and I am looking forward to sharing them with you and anyone else interested.

I have my GD with me at the moment and OH is still in sleepy land so it will be a while before I start sorting them out, I will at least get some on later though

I love barn owls, my granparents farm had some nesting in the old barn years ago, I have very fond memories of seeing them

They really are a very special collection of photos - I am so impressed. A great opportunity to see these beautiful birds up close.

How did you hear of this photo day Stu?

if you remeber we visit this place quite often and they have leaflets there. We picked up one in March and OH decided to treat me for my birthday.

They do loads of other stuff too, we are hoping to do a full day bird of prey experiance where you get to handle and fly the birds. It is quite expensive but it would be a great day

Yes you must i liked the fact that the professional photographer was always on hand if you wanted his help but wasn't overbearing in anyway. we had a bit of a laugh when my camera wouldn't sync with the studio flash. on the other hand he helped with lighting and settings so I learn't some useful skills.

Hi Stu - 🙂

I have a Nikon D60 and I am over the moon with it. As you know I had an Olympus before and never really got on with it. The lenses were very poor and I never really got the results I was looking for.

You have seen my photos from the cruise and US so you can judge the quality of it. I honestly haven't one complaint. It feels good in my hands, is very easy to use and I now have my joy back in taking photos. Just couldn't fault it. It has great reviews as well 🙂

BTW I am looking for a little point and shoot as I am going to see Take That in July and you aren't allowed to take in what they deem as 'pro' cameras so just need a little one to carry in my pocket. I have seen the Canon powershot A470

The reviews seem good and it is an excellent price. Wonder if you know anything about it?

I think that looks ok mary along with the usual suspects (fuji for example)

I am thinking of going to slr spec and getting some basic studio equipment with a view to starting to do portrat/ family/ wedding photography. Won't have a huge amount to spend but I can stretch to a d60 i think

I just love the D60 - it is the best camera that I have ever had and the lenses that I got with it are superb. Nikon often have cashback deals so wait for one of those :)
