This is from Walton on the Naze this is a technique known as HDR, (high dynamic range) this means i take a normal exposed picture using a kelvin reading from a light meter, I then retake the picture minus 2 stops from the exposure and then plus 2 stops from the kelvin exposure, this then captures the entire light range and is how a human eye would perceive the view but captured on film

I have just bought an 8gb sdhc card class 6, does anyone have experiance of a class 6 SD card? just wondering if I will notice much of a difference? I will have to wait a few days until its delivered to find out for myself, I am hoping it will speed up my burst photography as I am anticipating a quicker save time to a standard sd card

I'm not 100% sure Stu but according to a lot of the stuff/ bumf/ advertising that I've been reading up on lately a lot higher memory card should speed up your capture times.

I've always used XD cards myself but I'll more than likely be changing to Sonys' memory stick so I've been reading up on SD cards that go with it.

I'm finally going shopping tomorrow.;-)

I hope your new card fulfills your expectations.

Stu i dont use SD type cards as my camera works on the CF cards I always go for the extreme 3 write speed 30mb what camera are you using?

also you need to know your cameras processing speed, have you got NR switched on in the menu (noise reduction) as this makes writing to the card much longer also check you file size, if you want to print your pictures JPEG fine if for computer and disc use JPEG normal

a new bigger card does not mean the camera will write faster to it in fact it could even slow it down more because the card would hold more files so as it indexed the files it would have to sort through previous files on the card

hope thats helped

Cheers shady will check all of the info you have listed. I know the capacity of the card can slow stuff down but its the writing speed seems to be a lot faster than a standard card. will wait and see but will go and check my settings and see whats what,, thank you again

Well I have my photo course on sunday at the bird of prey centre.

I have my camera 3 batteries, memory cards, tripod, spare camera and more filters than you could shake a stick at. I even have a spare camera to take with me too.

Am I forgetting anything?:^O
