Digging into the FHG mine of information

We'll have a wedding in December, & it'll be celebrated in a small local Art Gallery

As it'll be in a Gallery, Daughter has the fun idea of issuing each guest at each table with a small pack of wax crayons, & a sheet of stiffish paper, with a request to them to draw their own version of the day, their own impressions or maybe the bride & groom :^O

She says it would be akin to the type of thing children are handed when they're seated in restaurants :^O

She would then collect them together & bind them into a book as a memento!!

I think I can source the crayons - I'd like them printed with names, but it seems that I'd have to order min 1000 - unless anyone here knows somewhere I could get say 120 packs done?

My main question is about the paper, & subsequent binding.  Do any of you resourceful lot know what we could use please?

Why not get A4 card...& later they can laminate & put in an album...

i think it is a fantastic idea and i would go with thin card and laminate then put in a post ring binder which could be covered in wedding paper.:-)

Re: Digging into the FHG mine of information

Remember the old needle cases we made at school.

Sure you could do something along that line

Folded paper, like a book, darning needle, alllready threaded, to hold it all together

What about a display book?  They come in several sizes - some with 100 pages so that would take 200 drawings back to back.

Re: Digging into the FHG mine of information

Perhaps try a Wholesale Art Materials supplier via google? If I post links here I'll get a slap but there are several listed. They supply display books as well as the paper/pens etc.

Your daughter knows her guests better than I do... but I was thinking as it's a gallery, why not supply a very large blank white canvas and just supply drawing pens on a table beneath the canvas and let people use it as a graffitti board - but in a wedding momento type way throughout the day/evening. Those who may be shy about their drawing skills might not appreciate having to come up with something on the spot but others may relish the thought of lots of white space. Anyway just a thought.

If you stay with the idea of drawing at the tables perhaps make sure your wax crayons are waterproof as you might get a bill for new tablecloths, unless they're disposable of course. 😄
