Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.
Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.
2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes
2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.
His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.
Visits can be arranged, please contact Creeky for more info.

*giggles at Towery and wonders if our poster Posh knows she has a dainty equine namesake now* 😄
Favour needed please - horse needing homing - could someone very sweetly copy this to the equestrian board please?:
Hannah is 16years old Hanoverian Mare 16hh. She came from Ashford Market in a poor way, low weight and no muscle at all. She has been built up with light work and good food. We have had her teeth done several times - she needs one more visit for them to be able to go to normal checks. We couldnt pick her feet up when we got her but can now pick them up usually without probs. She has been fully vaccinated and wormed regularly since we have had her. She is a bit stiff when ridden - there is nothing visible she just feels a little stiff so think she is past being ridable and suitable as companion horse only. I am looking for somewhere for her to be a home for life as she has obviously had a rough time and I dont want her to keep being passed about. I cant handle her with my waling stick as she can be a little bolshy, but it is nothing someone physically able couldnt handle and it is mainly when going out to the field as she wants to get there quickly and I cant walk fast enough for her. She is near Junction 6 the M25.

No I wasn't angling for that, but having seen from Deno's distress how sometimes a companion horse can be desperately needed I thought it was worth putting here knowing someone would be able to move it into the group for me as I'm no longer in there.
Its one of my sisters friends who has the horse, hence me knowing about it.

Its one of my sisters friends who is a general animal rescuer (is responsible for her getting ferrets)
I just promised to mention her here because we have so recently seen how important a companion horse can be. As far as I know Hannah will be kept until a new home can be found, just the owner is finding it increasingly difficult because of her limited mobility - many parallels with Sheb and Deno.
If someone has moved it into the group could they very sweetly keep an eye as that email addy has failed me a few times lately and I wouldn't want any possible prospective forever home to fall through just because I didn't get a message!
