Nice photos. The horses look really well groomed and cared for.
I get horses past here regularly but a lot of them look like they're kept in mucky places and boy, do they stink!

I forgot to look at FHG yesterday. I miss a day and miss a pic!
He's knocking on now? What's the letters for on the fence posts?

They're out of position as I had just rolled the field - they are dressage markers.

Thanks, I see. What's their function when they're in their proper place?

I think this article explains it far better than I could.

I see what they're for now but the only things I know about horses is that they're big, strong, smell revolting and leave big piles of stuff in the road out here!
That said, I know even less about dressage although I have watched it being performed.

A well kept and healthy horse should have very little scent. Obviously after hard exercise they will be somewhat sweaty but as in humans there is a distinct difference between the smell of fresh and stale sweat.
Horses are a prey animal and wouldn't last long in the wild with a strong scent.

I think some of the horses I see around here are somewhat neglected because they're absolutely filthy.
Posh and Deno always seem to look well groomed and very smart.
BTW, you earlier mentioned posts missing off the beginning of the thread? I looked back and #1 is still there OK so whereabouts on the thread have some gone missing?

You're right - the early posts are still there but I'm sure when I did check before that posts more than 10 years old had gone - strange

Hi Biker
Hope all the family are doing well - long time since you popped in - have you got a satnav now so not getting lost so much

Aye up there creaks yes we are all good. Grandson has a baby. Over 1 year old now. Not really too sure where the time goes but it does.
well creaks! I use Maps on my phone, what I've discovered is not only do you have to listen to the satnav but you have to look at the top left-hand corner to see which way the arrow is pointing. That's the bit that I can't get into the habit of doing, now.......normally this wouldn't be an issue ....... not if you know your left from your right and that's where the problem lies. 😂
I was going from derby to Chester it wasn't till I reached a signpost that said 12 miles to Blackpool Pier that I kind of figured something had gone wrong 😩

Going to be tough all the time we're in tier 4 looking after the fearsome four. We normally get help with mucking out, grooming and feeding them - looks like the wife and I are going to have to do it all now
Still, could be worse, nice quiet Christmas coming up
