Poor old Deno is suffering badly today - he’s got a very bad limp on his right foreleg - we’ve given him pain killers and booked the vet for Monday. Probably an abscess; he’s prone to getting them in that foot - it was badly damaged before he was rescued and has never been 100%.
We’ve put a poultice on it - hopefully that will help draw out any infection.

The grazing has got really bad but we’re lucky to know a friendly farmer who is letting us use a 5 acre field just up the road - normally he’d get a second cut of hay from it but won’t this year.
Deno and Posh will be staying with us until Deno’s leg is better but Tilly and Tally have moved.

Well the vet has been and it’s relatively good news - it is an abscess that is causing the problem - the vet has opened it up and drained out all the pus - we’ve put a dry poultice on the hoof and covered with a boot. He’s walking better already.

has won a prize from the local feed store for being the most deserving veteran - a sack of senior feed.

What a beautiful boy that Deno is... looks like he wants to do a bit of modelling, Creeky? 😄

No time to model - got to eat all this grass!

Very stylish! Does't Posh need to wear one too?

We’ve tried, believe me - she just keeps taking it off!

Oh my gosh.. was it not 'posh' enough for her? We should club together and get 'Horse Couture by Prada', perhaps? So funny...
Wishing all at Creeky Horse Camp a lovely bank holiday weekend... what you have to put up with, with those awkward (but adorable) equines...

Thanks for the lovely photos, Creeky, they always make me smile so much. Living the life of Riley those horsies are!

Another adventure today - phone call at 5:30 from my daughter telling us that it looked like the horses had escaped - their picture was on Facebook.
Telephoned the police to find they had been herded into someone’s driveway just up the road.
All hands on deck as our neighbours and a “horsey” friend from up road zeroed in on the troublesome foursome. Getting them back was thankfully easy as the police escorted us back to Creekyland.
It turns out our neighbours had cut down a tree on our boundary and damaged the fence - now temporarily repaired with electric fencing.
Looking at them now butter wouldn’t melt in their mouths!

Ha ha Creeky...
I don't know WHY you would think that gettig those horses back would be in any way difficult? They know where the best karrits an a ready supply of Polo mints are. They're horeses, not stupid.
Happy New Year to all at Creekyland, especially those four-hooved varmints of yours.

Our vet has used a picture of Tilly and Tally as the ‘header’ on their Facebook page.
