You need to have a heart of stone if this story doesn't affect you. Pages 24 - 25 inc.of today's Daily Mail carry the story of an infant Orang-Utang who wii not leave it's mother's side under any circumstances as vets do battle to to keep it's mother alive. They were rescued just hours from death and are now making progress in a sanctuary where they will be released back into the wild once they have both recovered sufficiently.
I'm a grown man, and yet I was glad my wife and daughter were in the other room when I read it. I'm not a ooo/arrr sentimentalist by any means, but that story really affected me.
My Adam's Apple felt the size of a tennis ball by the time I'd finished it.
Did anybody happen to read it?

It was in the newspaper with all the heart-tugging photos and the gooey headline with the baby orang-utang holding on for dear life with the words: "Mummy, please don't die." Being a bloke I don't normally get affected by this sort of thing, but I've been under a lot of stress recently and a marked lack of sleep - 4 & 1/2 hours on average hasn't helped. Lack of sleep tends to heighten one's senses, joy or anger.
A colleague told me how he'd come home to find his wife and daughter bawling their eyes out. He was most anxious to find out what was wrong.
"Nothing" His wife sobbed. "It's Lassie - she came home! Waaa!" He shook his head, went into the kitchen and put the kettle on. They certainly knew how to make those films, and Lassie Come Home has to be the top one.

Arrr... "And they all lived happily ever after."
