Could someone identify this flowering plant please?

I didn't plant it but its made itself very happy in the front jungle - spreads like mad.  It smells a bit pooey/rotting bodyish so NOT good as a cut flower (as I discovered earlier)

Bees etc don't seem to like it.

Anyone know what it is please?

I think it's Valerian it grows like a weed here in N. Wales, even in the cracks in the walls. Lovely colours though and you have all three.

Centranthus ruber !   Thats it!     I grow Valeria officinalis which looks and certainly smells a bit different

I've just been reading up, and its a good bee and butterfly plant apparently which is rather worrying as I've never seen a bee or flutterbye on it.    Plenty on the Astilbe nearby though so perhaps that is preferred.

Oh and Maggie, I haven't forgotten about the soap - just life getting in the way.  

Can you use used flannelette from clean (obviously) pyjama jackets?   I never use the jackets more than once or twice until I get annoyed at them bunching up
