There was an almighty crash and bang from the kitchen this morning followed by several expletives. OH in taking a bowl out of the cupboard for his porridge had managed to drop all the bowls on the floor. I think 6 have broken. Too many bits to count. Sods law that the bowls I don't like are still intact. All my lovely blue and white ones I had bought over the years from charity shops and antique fairs have gone!! Nothing very valuable thank goodness. Suppose it's an excuse to go and buy some more!

What a shame Mumsie.:-( I hope you can find replacements.

I've just been telling my daughter and she thinks we should go on a trip to her favourite factory shop in the Potteries. Any excuse!

Mumsie, I know just how you feel, having done the same thing last week. I broke all my dishes and have also done it before, a few years ago dropped all my pasta dishes on the floor! I bought some cheap ones to tide us over a couple of days ago but I bet we'll have those for years and years!
We've got through some sets of glasses in our time but one glass that has survived almost thirty years is a cheap little glass we got free from a petrol station whilst on holiday in about 1985!

We've still got, and use, all our glasses we got from the petrol station!! :^O
We hardly ever drop or break anything, I don't know why, we just never do. When I got fed up of my dinner service I gave it away and there was every plate, dish, casserole and lid, gravy boat and saucer.....the lot, all still intact. We'd got it as a wedding present and used it every day for about 35 years.!! Boy, was I sick of the sight of it!!:^O
I hope you find replacements mumsie, even better than you had before!:-D

there is a china search site you could go on, they stock everything.
I cannot keep a set of 6 glasses to save my life. being a coo I can bust any glass you like:-(
we buy ours at car boot sales at 20p a time:^O I'm hopeless with glass. well in fact with anything, I've just chipped my dinner plate, we use Booths Real old Willow which are real tough ......but not tough enough for me:_|

There is actually a china search place in the town where I live but it isn't very expensive.
I loved my different blue and white dishes, some were Old Willow, one I bought in America. I looked in the charity shops today but couldn't find any. I'll have to hit the car boot sales.
We haven't broken much crockery over the years, although when I was newly married I knocked several casserole dishes which had been wedding presents out of the cupboard onto a stone floor. I think one broke and a couple of lids. I can still remember how heartbroken I was.
Our problem now is arthritic hands, especially in the mornings. Oh the joys of getting older!

I'm sure I typed "it is very expensive" not isn't. This iPad keeps altering all my words.

Oh noooooo! :_|
I love blue and white - especially willow pattern. My husband's aunt gave me some vintage willow pattern a while ago and I'm terrified of using it as everything gets chipped/dropped/otherwise mangled in this house.
I hope you have fun replacing them from bootsales - tell Mr Mumsie that its essential you do!
Lovely to see you back posting :-x

I hope you manage to find some nice replacements too Mumsie 🙂
Were like CG & hardly break anything, we've been using the same "boots Hedge Rose" for longer than I care to remember but I still like it & would hate to break any :^O
