I used to cry me innards out when chopping onions - but no more!!
The crying bits are the root. If you chop all around but leave the root intact, you shouldn't get the reaction.

OH came up with the best one being a totally insensitive male - he'll chop them in advance and I can freeze in portions.
Now that solution appeals to me!
Have just had several bags of frozen chopped onions arrive with my Asda order!!!!! (((((daughter))))

oh my god CG onions are the base of nearly every english/irish staple flavouring
go slap him with a scallion ............ its milder

Ah now salad is his favourite meal, but he doesn't eat scallions,
or radishes,
or cucumber,
or coleslaw,
or peppers,
or grated carrot,
or avocado,
and no cooked meats,
no sausage rolls
and the tomato must be very ripe,
but give him a plate of lettuce and he's happy!!
