Well I like a bit of gore mercs and will definitely be recording my 'war wounds' on camera, but I hadn't thought to put the pictures on here!:O I did once put some big areas of chickengrandpa 's bruised anatomy on here and got a slap, even though there was nothing rude about them. The first dressing is still on the wound so it's nine days today, I have to take it off on 3rd.
It's strange how long the swelling lasts isn't it? The trousers I've got on today look like trousers on my good leg and leggings on my bad leg.
The neighbour has just been in to take my blood again.:-( My 'brave' is beginning to run out!:_|

Sending buckets of 'bee brave' to top you up 😄

Thanks stan and twishy. It's funny, there's a big difference between being brave and pretending to be brave. Sooner or later the pretense starts to waver.:O Perhaps I can get some more from Tesco!:^O

OH recently claimed on his medical insurance as he couldn't work with where his wound was. We sent lovely pictures of the various stages of healing along with the claim. They didn't argue. Just repeated process for second op - still wondering if the poor postal girl at the insurers pukes on opening or not?. Boy does it look a mess before and after the dressing comes off.

Would love to see Capatin Bovine at work scouring the aisles at work for a packet of that :^O

Good morning CG - you're doing smashing - remember you and your body have just been through a lot :-x
When the courage you have deserts you,
It's just resting for a little while,
But pretty soon, it will return,
To help you cope and get you through :^O
xxxxxxxxx kisses for sore bits xxxxxxxxx

Ahhh bless.:-x
pops in to give my usual high level of sympathy, trips over some wooden sticks propping up a person and cant bear the screaming and moaning so wanders off>>>>>>>>

Sending cyber hugs. The swelling will go over the next couple of weeks.
After Friday I will be just as battered and bruised as you, I too will have the warfarin injections, and I will have the pressure boots instead of the flight socks.
Just let me know if you need me to send "himself" - he has had over 10 years experience of assisting in the shower.

Oh, Tesco don't even do ethically sourced anything - they won't do bravery!!! You'll only get that from your pals!! :^O
Have only just seen this fred, CG, and although I don't know you well, we have chatted in the past. I wish you the the very best in your recovery and send you lots of bravery . . . . . and hugs and love.
Gird your loins and go at 'em girl - Gggggrrrrrrrrrr
:-x

Thank you kiss. x
I've just been brave and taken my dressing off.:-( No wonder it hurts, most have a wound of between 5" and 9", mine is 13" because I'm fat!:|

did you have staples or stitches.every day you will notice small improvements .so stay strong and brave.((((:-) )))))
02-05-2013 9:03 AM
Yes I know cookie 😄 I do notice I can do a little more each day. I can get in and out of bed without the 'leg up' if I've forgotten to take it with me to the bedroom. I can raise my knee a little, which I couldn't a few days ago, but I still can't lay on the bed and move my leg out to the right. It just doesn't seem to realise I'm talking to it!!!

Glad to read your doing so well CG , your braver than me ive only had to be alone for a week & im a nervous wreck ....:-D
Hubbys gran had the same op after breaking her hip, her wound was very neat but her leg was so heavy ...makes you wonder why they cant use any lighter metal but supose it has to be steel .
Rest up & enjoy your shower time 😉

Sorry, forgot to say cookie, they are desolvable stitches.
The metal doesn't seem any heavier than the bone pcc, but the whole thigh, hip and bottom is so swollen it's twice the size of the other one!
BEWARE!!!! PICCY IN THE NEXT POST, BUT IT'S NOT REALLY GORY!
