Broken Toe

At around 7.45, I banged my left foot on my bedside cabinet and I've broken the toe next to the little on that foot.  I've been to the walk-in centre and the said toe is broken and rather painful.  Two of my toes are now strapped up together.  I did a slight dance when it happened and just said oh heck!!

Too quote you books ! "oh heck" ! As they say up here in Scotland "aye right" where two positives make a negative  Smiley Happy. I bet the language was a bit stronger than "oh heck"  Smiley Surprised.

Hope you have been given decent painkillers and feel better soon.

I'm already on strong pain-killers for my arthritis so they couldn't give me anything else.  They gave me some more tape to tape the toes together again after I've had a shower.  If my foot swells up as well, I have to go back to the walk-in centre.

Or in your case, the 'hop in centre'    I've done that dance too books when I kicked a box I'd stood at the end of my bed.  It's always early morning isn't it and I think I said 'oh heck' too. (Or was it *^&£&*^%&*^%!!!!!)  Hope the pain subsides soon books.  heart

Thanks for all your kind wishes.  I'm hobbling around more now than I do normally.  This what I mean when I say that if I was a horse, I'd have been shot years ago.

Thanks for the hug Merc.  And yes, it does hurt.  I was told at the Walk-in Centre this morning to sit with my feet up.  If I sit too long, my joints sieze up.  What am I like?  Methinks that I'm a walking wreck.

What pain killers are you on bits, and are they effective.

I have arthritis in my hips and if I walk too far, I am in agony, and if I sit too long, I also seize up

Hi.  I take co-codomol and ibuprofen which, at the moment, are working on the toe.  I take the soluble co-codomol even though my GP didn't agree in giving me those at first because they cost more.  When I explained that they worked quicker, he finally agreed.   I take the highest possible dose of ibuprofen when needed.

oh so that's why they didn't want to give me the soluable ones Chris, they told me it was because they had too much sodium in them, the crafty divils!! they do work quicker too.

Oh poor you!! I think a few "dearie me's" would have fell out of my mouth too.

Definitely hugs back to ya tonight.cuddle smiley.gif Bet you'll sleep with your foot out of the bed tonight, even the sheet will feel like a steel blanket.....

Awww CB.   Many thanks for the hugs and the flowers.  Must admit that it brought tears to my eyes but I think that was more shock than anything else.  My strapped my toes up with sticking plasters before I went to the walk in centre.  The nurse I saw said that mum had done a good job.  The nurse at the walk in centre strapped up with white tape and I nearly ended up on the roof again - this time of a three storey building.  I was given the rest of the roll of tape that the nurse had strapped my toes up with.  I am still in pain but it's not as bad.  Methinks that I will sleep with my feet out of the end of the duvet 'cos I think that it will be more comfy.

The soluble tablets do work quicker but I hardly ever put extra salt on food.

Many thanks again CB

Thanks Rose.  It's not too bad at the moment but I am dosed up with pain killers at the moment.  I've checked on the internet and it could take three weeks for it to heel.  I hope it doesn't take so long but we'll have to wait and see.

broken toes  take as long as they take,  3 wks can be a rough guide, there is no guarantee that it will definitely be fixed

i think if you aim for it being better  just before the wedding then you wont be disappointed
