Do any of you have chickens or ducks wandering around your garden which you now have to confine for 30days? How are you managing if you have, I am already struggling with my poor hens being confined to their shed, I've netted the doorway so that they can have the door open to give the fresh air but they can't get out, but already they are bored and yelling their heads off. During the last avian flu outbreak there were a lot of hens abandoned on the local beach, I assume by people who were suddenly put off poultry keeping,, hope that doesn't happen again but fear it may do. There are also going to be people who would prefer to despatch their birds rather than go to the trouble of confining them, I understand the need for the ruling, but worry about the consequences.
