Bake Off!!.

How many are getting excited about the New bake Off programme on Wednesday?. Promoted to BBC 1 no less. I wonder what Mr Hollywood will be up too with Mary this year. I like it and i think Mel and Sue are entertaining presenters!!!. It just gets the old taste buds going and with me it does not take much!!. LOL. Very good programme,, i shall be tuning in

Cake picture???  

When I see people on TV baking, they usually tip the dried fruit out of the packet and into the mix. Is it only me that puts it into hot water and gives it a good wash by rubbing it between my palms.  You'd be surprised at the colour of the water.  It used to be coated in liquid parrafin to preserve it, I don't know if it still is.  Also you get bits of twig and stalk sticking to the fruit.  I'm not talking about the cheap stuff either!

No I don't wash dried fruit. I do sometimes soak it in tea to plump it up. I do dust cherries in flour though before putting them in.

THAT CAKE!!!,,,its a work of Art. I think everyone who can bake like that should have their own business cos they are wasting talent if they do not!!!. Its Amazing,,,what a BEAUTY!.

Thanks all for her compliments, she is very talented. She does make some money from doing it but doesn't run a proper business. There are too many up and coming good cake maker/decorators though at the mo, she did think about it but instead she has just been accepted as a student Midwife so will be training for that, so won;t be much time for cakes.

I love baking, I have always wanted my own little cake shop and tea room somewhere but I have never had the means and the right opportunity.

I do like watch Cake Boss on the TV though.

All the best to her. I have much admiration for our Midwives,,their very dedicated gentle women. They keep our pregnat ladies safe and have a part in one of the most precious moments in womens lives. I hope she loves it!!.

Rose, she must really be dedicated and love children (I know she is a fantiaic Mum) I thought she would have had enough though as she has four of her own, including 3 1/2 year old twin girls who are absolute monkies.  xx

I am really proud of her though.

I too used to make bespoke cakes but never got the opportunity to go further, and I always wanted to have a tea room too!!

I like to bake it soothes my nerves and calms me. I hate cooking though.
