Advice on Acupuncture.

I have started having Acupuncture and have had three sessions now for Migraines and other health issues. Has anyone else tried this and noticed how it made them feel afterwards or the day after. I have noticed the next day im just tired and wiped out and i do not know if this is normal or not. It may not be the Acupuncture but it seems to be right afterwards so i think it is. Anyone any advice on how it made them feel perhaps?. ?:|

Advice on Acupuncture.

I have a friend who is an osteopath/acupuncturist and she has mentioned to me that she has to go very slowly with some patients who have a strong exhaustion response to the treatment.

Its tireing for some people just to let a stranger into their personal space, and add that acupuncture works on the energy meridians of the body its no surprise that you feel drained afterwards.     Mention it to your practitioner as they may be able to mitigate that effect for you.

Anyway, its perfectly normal response for some so don't worry.  Just accomodate it with extra rest if you can and consider it part of the therapy

Advice on Acupuncture.

I had acupuncture some years ago for a frozen shoulder. I had 3 sessions altogether. The day after a session my upper arm was extremely sore - like a badly pulled muscle. It must have been the acupuncture because it happened on each of the 3 occasions and at no other time.

The frozen shoulder continued for another 2 years and eventually got better by it's self. A waste of time and money.

I paid a wad load of money for a course of acupuncture for Migraine.

I had all the treatments, but the pain was unbelievable...

at the last session, & all the monies being paid - the therapist told me that I was allergic to the needle metal X-(

Oh thanks yes, i feel exhausted and very achy. Then i tend to feel better a lot better a few days after that. Im only giveing it a go for so long and see what effect it has.

OMG allergic to the needles , yes my acupuncturist told me this happens and i was worried as i do have allergies to metals sometimes but this is ok it seems. I did tell her anyway so she is aware. I know it works better for some than others?. My Migraines have been better but were improving anyway. Im in Perimenopause and have been feeling awful at times and i thought it might help as i also suffer anxiety problems too.  😐

Advice on Acupuncture.

Just thought of something?. Having had a bad migraine yesterday and left it too late to take my medication as i thought it would go off, i was thinking can anyone get Acupuncture on the NHS?, and if not why not?. Just rang doctor and she said best to make an appointment to ask but she said she did not think you could get it on NHS. It makes me mad though, they want to just pump you full of chemical mind changing pills, where if something natural does help why are there not special surgeries for alternative medicational things like Acupuncture, Massage, Hypnotherapy, on the NHS??

Has anyone here had Acupuncture on the NHS?, and how would i go about it. Or does anyone know of anything natural i can do to stop Migraines thats not harmful in any way?

Thank you. 🙂

I don't know about acupuncture and NHS but, a friend of mine used to get migraines very badly.  She went to H&B that well know high street place that sells all your vitamins and minerals and had an allergy test.  This showed she was sensitive to beef, tomatoes and bread among other things.  She cut right down on these and has hardly had a migraine since. 😐
