How about a days go-karting with a couple of his mates or laser quest, paintballing that sort of thing
Does he like a particular magazine that you could get a years subscription to ?

You could also see if your local cinema does an annual pass / ticket .

My grandson who'll be 12 in January loves the technical Lego that makes moving models. He also likes remote control helicopters. He just saved up and bought himself a trick scooter (I think that's what they're called. Very small and they use them on skate parks) If your grandson has a biggish garden, mine loves his zip wire (which again he saved up for and bought himself) He's very good with money, he'll do jobs to earn it and along with his pocket money he'll save it for months and months without spending a penny of it until he has what he needs. Then he'll hang on for a bargain price!!!

All mine had games consoles at that age so a voucher or new game was always welcome

Jamie only plays Minecraft as far as I know. I don't think his parents would thank me for another game for him to get consumed by! lol

If he's not into sport or music, what is he into? Does he like science or nature? There are science kits, like build your own radio; or microscope kits. Or a pair of binoculars and a bird-watching book. Or a digital camera with a macro facilty (for taking close-ups of bugs) and a Guide to Insects book.

science sounds good but he is a strage boy he is not really into anything but i would class him as a young 12 year old if you know what i mean.

They are tiny prehistoric type aquatic creatures....you buy a kit and hatch them from eggs, feed them until they grow big enough to be moved to a 'city' It's dead easy to do but the kids are amazed thet they can have their own prehistoric creature...absolutely fascinating for kids...
They look a bit like a tiny Horseshoe crab.....Amazing things....
You used to be able to buy the kits from Argoose but I bet you could get them on here too....
Yes you can...type in Triop World

Have never known a child that doesn't like money, make sure its something he would want because its such a waste for everyone when things are bought that the kids have no interest in.

What about a microscope or telescope, mine have both at that age, he was a bit of a geek, he also loved K'nex. He didn't have a games console until he was 14. Now thats all he does when he isn't working and he is 21.

When my children were young they were called 'Sea Monkeys' They are in fact brine shrimp. They either all die or they thrive very well and you don't know what to do with them. You can feed them to fish, they love them.
