I have recently had the same problem but I bought my ladder 2 months ago the seller has no return address and Ebay will not give me the sellers details. It is outside of the 30 day return window. According to the consumer rights act 2015 I am entitled by law to return the ladder and get a full refund however Ebay as usual are refusing to help even though you pay for buyer protection which doesn't exist. The recall notice is actually issued by Trading Standards through the government. I was actually advised by 3 separate Ebay customer service reps to continue using the ladder as the warning was automatically generated even though it poses a serious risk to life obviously Ebay think that they know better than the UK Government and Trading Standards. I am currently trying to get a refund through Natwest as I paid with my debit card but watch this space. Oh and the seller on Ebay had a no returns policy this being that he is a drop shipper so no return address like so many other sellers on Ebay if they offer no returns simply don't buy off them as a recalled item will not be refunded and Ebay are quite happy for this to happen and offer no help whatsoever.
