When Did eBay Become So Unfriendly to Sellers?

Case 1:
A buyer purchased a ring and requested a return, claiming that one of the stones wasn't properly set under the claws. I obtained a written report from a professional jeweler confirming there was nothing wrong with the setting. I appealed to eBay and have been waiting over four months for a refund on the return postage.

Case 2:
Another buyer claimed that one of the stones had fallen out during transit, but she found the loose stone in the parcel. However, when she returned the ring, the stone was missing. There was nothing I could do, but eBay still ruled in the buyer’s favor. Their reasoning: as a seller, I should have predicted this and must cover the loss.

Case 3:
A customer purchased a brand new ring and left positive feedback. A week later, she contacted me saying she lost a stone and wanted a refund. I checked with TJC (the supplier), and they don’t cover accidental damage or loss—and neither should I. Yet again, eBay took the buyer’s side.

I'm starting to feel that eBay is no longer a fair platform for sellers. I’m seriously considering switching to a marketplace with more balanced and supportive policies.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
What’s going on with eBay’s seller protection these days?

You're selling a lot of jewellery so these things are bound to happen.    If stones are loose the buyer would be entitled to a refund.   BTW, you should really register as a business seller.
