Problem with seller.

Hi need help or advise bought a item of eBay seller then sent message saying he isn't selling because he wasn't getting enough out of it after eBay had taking there fees but he had marked it as despatched & said i had to wait for my money back & if I wasn't happy with that he would keep my money & send a empty box ' so I waited & nothing so I put in  not received request with eBay but the night before the seller seemed to put a fake tracking number on so now I have to wait again surely there's someone in eBay I can talk to.🤬.

Unless the tracking shows delivered or delivery attempted to your address then eBay will find find in your favour.  You don't need to speak to eBay, just escalate the dispute to them after 3 business days.

 

Make sure you leave appropriate feedback but keep it short and factual, something like 'seller failed to honour the sale'.

You don't need to talk to anyone from eBay,  you just have to be careful which case  you open ,  and when you open this.

 

It is furstrating,  but new members come on eBay, sell in auction format,  and do  not understand they need to start their auctions for the lowest amount they're happy to receive,  they cannot then receive less.

 

You have paid,  and they have marked the item as dispatched.

 

If the item does not arrive a reasonable time after the item's last estimated date for deivery,  you open a case for item not received.

 

If it does arrive,  and you receive an empty box,  or item not as described,  you open a case for item not as described,  and you escalate a case on day 4 if not refunded beforehand.  eBay step in and force the refund.

Yep it's so annoying as the seller should be banned from eBay he/she knows exactly what there doing mark it as despatched when there not even sent it & then a night before I can put my claim in against them they add a fake tracking number so now I've got to wait even longer for a outcome' I've been ebayer a long time & ive never come up against a seller like this ' & eBay really should make it easier sellers & buyers to get in touch with them for help.

If seller receive defects on their accounts, which they will in your case,  if they do not refund in time,  then it doesn't take too many defects for eBay to boot a seller from their site permanently.

 

eBay do not like unhappy buyers,  they tend not to come back to their site to buy.

Yep I am thinking it's easier just buying from a shop more expensive but less headaches.

The fake tracking number makes no difference to when you can open or escalate a dispute.  The option to escalate the dispute will appear after 3 business days irrespective of the tracking.
