Is simple delivery mandatory now? Cause I know it was meant to be from the 15th but as of now the 19th.
It is still on my listings showing as optional.
I am at a dead end. I am considering leaving eBay for good. I’m currently unsure of what to do.
I am scared of making any moves because of how erratic eBay have been of late with all these blasted changes.
I honestly couldn’t give a damn now about being a private seller. Since eBay have killed all the enthusiasm for it with the introduction of simple delivery.
I leave the rest to all of you reading this. I’ve read elsewhere that SD has been causing a right hullabaloo.
So I’m staying put and going to be ignoring any orders that come through. I will strongly oppose being dictated by eBay as to how to suck eggs.
So do I now throw in the towel or not or do I press on and hope that they reverse direction?
What to do? What does the future hold ? Will eBay eventually be inaccessible to us private sellers ?
Is there a light at the end of the tunnel to lead us out from this nightmare and darkness ?

It will be mandatory. AI is migrating all current listings over to SD (with varying success it would seem) but it seems to be taking longer than expected. Some people say it is being done category by category, so who knows how long it will take. I have put a 'time away' marker on my listings which I will refresh for a month at a time. I will be doing that until they sort this mess out, as I should still get emails from eBay updating me if things change. Until then I won't be selling OR buying. It seems that eBay no longer wants private sellers. I keep hearing from pro eBay people on here that it is not private sellers that eBay have a problem with, just business sellers pretending to be private sellers. Sorry, but that doesn't stack up. eBay has invested heavily in AI. Are we supposed to believe that AI cannot be set to task to weed out such sellers (multiple new items, different sizes, different colours etc etc) for further investigation? When I worked in banking back in the 90s, anyone who was running a business through a personal current account was identified by computer - even then -due to the type and number of transactions and received a letter telling them to open a business account or bank elsewhere. 30 years later, eBay could easily do the same - if it wanted to. No, to private sellers this feels like a vendetta, first the BPF now SD. Ebay need to remember that buyers and sellers cross pollinate and so businesses will suffer too if the private sellers leave eBay in droves. The problem is that the other platforms are just not as good, at least not at the moment. I am hanging fire, but unless they bring back seller fees (you simply built it into your asking price) and scrap the BPF, and make SD optional for those who like to fanny about with printers and QR codes, I am done with eBay. I think that eBay are banking on the fact that the other platforms don't have the traffic etc that we will all have a whinge and then comply. But I would rather donate my stuff than be dictated to and patronised ('simpler and cheaper' for me, my backside) by a corporation that has forgotten its roots.

Well said and put. I agree with you. AI could easily be used in any way, shape and capacity.
Well currently I’m the same as usual as SD isn’t being forced on me down my end yet. So I’ve lowered the prices which is basically shooting myself in the foot in order to boost sales in order to off load as much as possible before SD becomes mandatory by which point I will be pausing sales indefinitely as a form of protest against SD and I’ve stated that fact in my about page.
