Colleagues
Do you agree that all sellers selling items such as Watches, Kettles, Electrical items and Technological items, when listed as "New" whether with tags or not, whether boxed or not, should always be sent with a guarantee ... of at least one year. Otherwise what cover does a buyer have if the item malfunctions within 12 months?

Ebays 30 day MBG is pretty much the only thing that applies. Some sellers do actually stand by anything offered after that period but they are few and far between.
Personally,if i wanted a "stand firm" warranty etc i would buy elsewhere.
This is planet Ebay,it has no connection at all to planet earth.

As above, if worried about warranties on electricals, there is a
world outside eBay.
Buying direct from the usual big name websites.
High streets . Supporting local small business etc

eBay's money back buyer protection in in addition to a buyer's statutory rights, so eBay are giving buyer's extra protection.
When buying online a guarantee in only as good as the buyer's ability to enforce it.

I bought an ebike battery which has faiked after 9 months - this kind of item should last longer than that but where is the supplier now - seems to have gone to ground - shame that sellers dont want to support but just be box shifters
