maybe they do more!   At least some of us may be regular posters but we are not just out to be disruptive like some.  You are one of the so called regular correspondents but most of your comments are not what i would call helpful!      It is a discussion forum and just because you may not like some comments does not mean they should not be allowed.   As for ticks, i never even thought about them when i first started coming on here and actually i do not think about them now.  Could not care less if someone likes or dislikes my comments by ticking.  The only thing is does is shows that some people do agree with me on certain things and it depends on the name of the person doing so that as to whether i respect that tick or not.

Having had a wee flurry of upticks this week, notified to my email no less,  I thought you might be talking about me - though as it took me nearly 20 minutes to find the tick chart, I certainly don't post to see the upticks!

In the top twenty no less - dead chuffed I was - until I realised that there were two 'top of the pops' boards, sometimes they are only 20 posters in Busines -  but, sadly, I'm barely into the top 100 of the seller central one.   Very disappointing!  Then again, one of the Beatles songs only made No 63 in the UK pop charts so I'm in good company!

I did notice a few other old timers higher up - not sure that all know 'better' than the majority of us, but there are a few that know stuff.  A lot of stuff - and not just the mentors!  I've always found that  these 'discussion boards' were a great chance to learn stuff that others know better than me - because there ARE some who know better than the majority of us - and that's a very good thing!

So now I don't know who you are talking about and why you are upset about it!

Instead of getting upset, why do people get upset about little things??  Everyone is allowed here - just be grateful that there is no down button!

Not sure how long you've been active on here for, it looks like only this year ?

If that's right you'll not be aware that it was far worse until the "Top of the pops chart" was reformed.

Before that, the same handful of regulars (sometimes referred to as the "Ebay Fan Boys") totally monopolised that board.  All ticking each other for saying the same things on different threads.  It was a rarity for any private seller to ever get onto the board at all.

One or two of them even had their own "Kudos" accounts.  No sales, no purchases, no posts or replies, all the accounts ever did was give kudos to one of the regular "Most Helpful"posters.

Luckily there were a few exceptions who were genuinely here to help those with questions and earnt their places with plenty of well deserved Kudos.

honestly I doubt anyone at all posts here in order to earn a tick

for every tick I’m sure people get hundreds of no ticks and as another poster said be greatly, there’s no down ticks 

posters dont have any control of who marks their post as helpful 

there are a vast array of reasons people post almost all benign imo

i generate a lot because I post a lot …busy mind, sometimes bored, a lot of time on my hands this past couple months, if I know the answer to something I’ll jump in, I like helping, solving problems, I also like to learn so join in to conversations even if I make fool of myself, sometimes just to chat list is endless …and im sure is same for a lot of posters

When you say 'ticks' do you mean solutions which are symbolised with a tick or helpfuls which have a thumbs up icon?

918 over whatever recent measurement period only tells me I need to get out more. I honestly don't know who you are talking about as I'm more interested in the issues than second guessing the possible motives of the posters.
