I bought some DVDs from *** in June but as it was the last series of nine of CSI NY I did not get around to watching it until recently. All was OK until I got to episode 3:3 which would not play and neither would 3:4.
The Box was sold as new so ought to be covered under the Sale Of Goods Act. However *** said they have a 30 day returns policy and when I tried to appeal to Ebay they sumarily closed the claim.
I noticed that *** had changed their to ad for their other CSI NY series nines to say 'sold as new' rather than simply new which is what I bought. This company is a bit dodgy clearly.

Firstly despite all good intentions you must not name and shame. Remove all references to the seller's name and - in particular - the reference to their "trading morals"
All purchases should really be checked on arrival. EBay does have a magnificient and simple 30 day guarantee. If the seller is a business seller you are probably right as to consumer rights though for small amounts a purchaser will find it difficult to legally enforce them. EBay's time limits are strict and past 30 days they will close the case.
If you used Paypal you can do a case there up to 180 days [again simple] or try your payment provider if the amount is worth it @5oss1d12

Are you stating that anyone who sells a product on eBay UK only ever has to give a 30 day money back guarantee and pay no heed whatsoever to "The Sale of Goods act" and similar laws ?
