Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
This week, our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay and marco@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Issues on our business account
We daily end, and sell similar, approx 30 to 70 per day, on average 25% to 50% of my sell similar are not uploading my promoted listing rates from the ended listing. The process is forgetting/not uploading the PL information from the ended listing, this is happening daily has been for over 2 weeks.
Unsold/Inactive – Before the tinkering, ending bulk listings would appear in unsold immediately. For the past month or so, its no longer instantaneous, taking unspecified time and without notification. Unless sellers note the count its creating issues with further, selling, editing and deleting
Baby products – Yes, again, 10's of thousands of inventory and thousands of Ebays sellers are breaking Ebays baby products policy and the platform is not policing it, the private seller listings figure continues to increase
Additionally customers from GPSR countries are messaging me and telling me they are getting non-GPSR compliant Baby products through the platform. The platform is assisting in this process by shipping them through GSP. This isnt a policy its EU legislation, yet the platform has is selling them and delivering them with GSP
Disappearing views – I have had approx 160 auctions for the past month, relisting every 7 days. Every 7 day cycle 95% of listings get views in 24/48 hours. Then after a few days 80% of views disappear? Is this Bot clearance? I thought Ebay had cleaned the bot problem, has it come back? Why are views disappearing?
Thanks
FBF
Hi fatbobfan, thanks for your post.
For these specifics business accounts problems, we'd recommend getting in touch directly with our seller clinic, so your account can be reviewed in full. This is because they are expert on business account, and will be able to provide a better and quicker solution, especially when you need to address multiple issues. If something is not working the way it should, it will be reported for you, and if there is something that can be improved or explain why it works that way, they will also be able to do that for you no problem.
If you click here, you will be able to contact them.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi, thank you for your reply, you say it has been addressed for me in the past, can you tell me when this was ? Do you have a link ?
Thanks
Thanks for your reply, british-ceramics-and-paintings.
No, I do not have one handy, I'm afraid. However, you can look it up from your end if you wish. Just keep in mind that if it was too long ago, it might've been archived. So there is a chance that you won't find it.
Thank you,
Marco

Also I have now turned off every single email preference, does that mean eBay will stop sending me these ridiculous emails every day telling me to sell watches?
Hi @the_brick_lodge ,
If you have turned off the all the preferences it should stop them. If you find you are still getting them you can let us know.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi, surely it would be quicker / easier if you replied to the two questions I asked today.
18-03-2026 2:40 PM
Thanks for your reply, but really not going to do the ‘relevant team’s’ job for them. Homemade cake or Chocolate Brownie brings up enough results.
With respect my question was why are are they allowed to list as a private seller if the item being sold is as according to your own policies only business accounts are allowed to list for example - baby toys or baked goods?
Surely the account status should be the gatekeeper to such practices?

Ive given you the info, its up to you, I refuse to use CS as outcomes are rarely received

Hi Marco,
Thank you for the reply.
Every message I send it valid otherwise I wouldn't send it, I don't ever just waste time and send a copy and paste message to people as I value my time and theirs.
Sadly we cant argue/debate as they lock threads/delete comments and then ignore PM's, so please tell me how I can argue (agaisnt the forums T&C's according to the mods) but lets call it debate if they lock threads/delete comments and then dont reply to a PM? There is simply no other way. I'm all ears though.
Hi pegr-834437, thanks for your reply.
I see what you mean, and I understand where you are coming from. However, while you might think that your argument or reasons to undo the actions taken are valid, that doesn't necessarily means that they are and that actions will be taken based on your reply/messages. And again, you're free to text us about it, and argue it, but the team is not really obligated to reply, the community guidelines are all there and actions are taken based on it, actions just wouldn't be undone when a member just disagree with the actions taken.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @the_brick_lodge ,
As these are shipping update ones I am not sure they can be stopped as there are users who find them beneficial. As I have mentioned before while we don't have control over these emails/notifications we can share your feedback about receiving them with the relevant teams.
Thank you,
Kat

Thanks for your reply, fatbobfan.
I get what you mean, and while you do have a point, I'd need to remind you that we don't really do customer services over here, we are meant to provide orientation and guide members as much as we possibly can.
The cases we take on most of the time, we do it because we want to support and help as much as we can. However, when you are reporting multiple issues, you're better off contacting our customer support team, especially when they are business related, so they can address all of them for you.
If you choose to not contact our customer service team, that's entirely up to you.
Thanks,
Marco

Thank you, they come from Royal Mail so I guess eBay is sharing my email address with them and then they are sending the emails. Great if you only post 1 or 2 things now and then but really not needed on mass.
On a seperate note, one last question, there was talk of Simply Delivery being available for business sellers (presumably voluntarily), is that a plan coming in the future please?
18-03-2026 2:51 PM
Firstly its not an argument its a debate or discussion, the reasons threads are locked or deleted are due to arguments and the mods (who ignore eBays customers) claim that so please we can not argue.
I know my messages to them are valid, I only ever ask them to explain their reasoning, thats the basic I expect, not just a simple and a very lazy copy and paste reply, I think we all agree anyone who just copy and pastes a reply is being unprofessional and lazy. They are acting like judge jury and executioner, all I ask is for them to explain the decision so I don't fall foul of them in the future as the reasons they give are never clear.
I wish we could reach out to you's but all we get is its gone to the relevant team, once we get a reply we will let you now or this has already been asked please search back through however many weeks and find it yourself, thats not exactly helpful in my opinion, its just as helpful as being ignored. Nobody is obligated to reply I agree but as a basic common courtesy when asked a valid question to explain something so it doenst happen again as the reason is super vague is basic in my opinion.
Anyway I'm glad we have agreed that copy and paste answers are unprofessional and shouldnt ever be used when somebody asks a question.

Hi @bojangled ,
We don't perform reviews or take action on accounts here so we will share the points you are raising about these listings/accounts not being actioned with the policy team.
Thank you,
