Why are ebay trialling yet another way to hide item descriptions from buyers hot on the heels of the pop-up debacle the other week? See here: Re: Item descriptions truncated + 'show more' butt... - UK eBay Community

What is this total obsession with stopping buyers from seeing the most important part of the listing?

Hi @rainbowtrax ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are not seeing the same in Chrome & Edge. Is it showing like this in browsers other than firefox?

Thank you,

Kat

Sold item, received money, posted item to address shown on eBay.  Item was refused as buyer has moved - they forgot to update their details!  Royal Mail has returned parcel to me.  Buyer still wants item.  How do I get them to pay the postage charge I will incur?

Hi @satnavcat1205 ,

You will need to organise with the buyer to see if there is another way he can make the payment to you possibly through paypal.  As the original transaction has already been completed, there isn't a way for you to take payment through eBay just for postage.

Thank you,

Kat

Hi @rainbowtrax ,

Thanks for confirming that. I'll follow up with our development team to see if there is a testing process going on for this description view.

Thank you,

Kat

A rep on .com forum has already made this statement.

"I have reached out to a few different teams and there are some tests that are being ran on how listings are viewed."

Several Ebay pages are still not working correctly when using the Pale Moon browser and it has been a number of weeks since I reported this. The pages work normally when using other browsers. The problems are –

- On the Manage Active Listings and Manage Drafts pages the menus, the bell icon, the filter buttons and other buttons have stopped working.

- the “Submit Bid” button on any item listing page is still not working - a box appears which says “Oops! Looks like we're having trouble connecting to our server. Refresh your browser window to try again.” This means I am unable to bid on an item using Pale Moon.

- The Nectar points page loads completely blank apart from the Ebay search box and a few links.

Pale Moon is regularly updated by its developers to ensure it is safe and secure so it is not a problem with it being "outdated".

kat@ebay thankyou. I wish they would realise that it's absolute madness to continue this campaign to obstruct buyers from accessing item descriptions.  It is not wanted by either buyers or sellers and causes nothing but problems.

Why is there still an insistence that the estimated delivery date EDD is "working as designed". When it's clearly being shown, from many examples given on the forum, that while it may be "working as designed" it's certainly not working correctly or accurately. Frankly a simple finger counting guesstimate would be more accurate.

Hi @mysterious_cities_of_mold

We would usually recommend trying to access the site from a different browser if faced with issues while trying to access from the pale moon browser.  We can see from your previous posts it doesn't seem to be working for you for quite some time. We cannot always guarantee that all browsers are compatible with the eBay site as each browser maintains their own updates and security measures.

Can you share the exact browser version you use for pale moon and a screenshot showing showing the URL when one of the eBay pages is not functioning.

Thank you,

Kat

💬 Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 15.03.23 @2pm

Hi,

We had a few listings removed about two weeks a go, all relating to weed killer. We are not a manufacturer, just a retailer. The listings removed were a bit random, and we have other similer listings which were not removed. I contacted Customer Services on the 1st March and spoke to Paul. He understood my points of view and agreed it seemed as though we had done nothing wrong, but needed the 'specialist team' to investigate further. I would receive a reply in 72 hours. I've heard nothing yet, so I am anxious to clarify the matter. Also, eBay sent messages to all customers in our sales history, claiming the product is to be recalled! This caused complete havoc and a member of my staff spent three days dealing with the complaints. We have been selling this product for 5 years without issue. Can you find out if there is any follow-up please?

Thank you,

Julian

Hi @bennotbill

As you know, we monitor the community for examples of issues with EDDs and forward them to the shipping team to review.  We will continue to do so but there are no plans to change how this is calculated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi @tornari-group ,

Depending on the nature of removals and the follow up with the risk teams  it can take some time to complete.  I will need to follow it up offline and come back to you.

Thank you,

Kat

💬 Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 15.03.23 @2pm

Good afternoon,

I am asking if there is going to be any inprovement on contacting  Customer Services and if they are actually going to action the problems and technical glitches on eBay? I have been subjected to several glotches on the platform and it is impossible to get them looked at. Executive Escalations no longer are interested and conversations, when available, with CS is always a pre-written script that they recite. I have heard it so many times now that it is embarrasing for eBay. We are your customers. Are eBay going to start looking after us?
