Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay , dave@ebay and marco@ebay . Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Afternoon team,
Just a quickie, my percentage has dropped to 99.8% since receiving automated feedback. Only a year old negative is hanging around while I’m at 99.9%.
I know it’s a silly 00.1% but visually it’s not pretty, am I being penalised for buyers not leaving fb?Ty
Jo
Hi @bojangled
Feedback is always a tough one. As that negative is from so long ago It should hopefully fall off the calculation soon. Automatic feedback should also help with the calculation though. As you receive more the effect of that negative should get watered down.
Thanks,
Dave

I use Royal Mail and the rates announced earlier today are confusing - it looks as if a 0-1kg package is £3.64 and a 1-2kg package is £3.38 i.e cheaper than a lighter package, if I am reading correctly. I obviously don’t want buyers to have a problem so would like clarification please.
Hi @caerleon1959 ,
eBay are introducing a 0- 2kg small parcel size lower price point. Its not yet live as its taking affect from the 20th of May.
Thank you,
Kat

Not question but a suggestion off extending your delivery/shipping date, due too illness, I recently had over bank holiday weekend sever sickness that resulted in me landing in hospital for treatment, I was forced to pay someone to pack and dispatch my sales. With a facility to extend this date I would not have needed to.
I am a sole trader on my own so if I am ill, ebay want to punish me for that!
A facility that would mirror ETSY's system, I had sale on there extended no problem and dispatched on time on ebay it is not available, Why?Hi moldosgifts, thanks for your post.
We're sorry to hear about that, I hope you're doing better now. I've taken notes of your feedback, and I will be passing this on for you no problem. However, under this exceptional circumstances, you can contact our customer service team if this impacted your account, and they will review that for you to see if further actions can be taken in order to help you with that.
Anything else, please feel free to let us know.
Thank you,
Marco
Thank you so much for you well wishes unfortunately a call to CS was not possible. But i appreciate you passing this forward thank you. perhaps have them take a look at how etsy deal with these scenarios by just extending the dispatch date up to 7 days, which would have been fine for me.
No problem at all moldosgifts, happy to help, I will let them know that as well. If it was only 2 or 3 orders that were impacted, I can send it for review myself, otherwise you'd need to contact our customer service team just when you can, so they can look into it for you.
Thank you,
Marco

"Hi @jimthing
Thats a good suggestion, I can definitely see how it would help. I'll pass this over to the site team and ask if it's something they can implement or even add something to help pages that can do the calculation for you.
Thanks,
Dave "
Dave, it's a spreadsheet formula we specifically need. There is a third-party website that can give the answer, but this cannot be implemented on our own spreadsheets.
Another suggestion would be to add the option to simply enter the FINAL price, instead of the pre-BPF price.

This part of the email
“After listening to your feedback about the services that matter most to you, we’re introducing ‘0-2kg small’ parcel size options to provide you with a lower price point. We recommend reviewing and amending your live listings that use small or medium parcels from 20 May, to make sure you’re offering your buyers the best prices”

Thanks for your reply, dantwocats.
It was only a recommendation to review your listings, you don't have to if you don't want to. However, we recommend doing so, as that way you can offer more competitive prices.
Thank you,
Marco

Why not just leave simpleton delivery optional for those new to eBay coming over from the place eBay are trying to be and let everyone else who has figured out how to post their stuff the way that suits them ( and has done for over 20 years)?
07-05-2025 2:34 PM
Regarding simple delivery, the new update today suggests that we should be able to see the various size / weight bands on the active listings page, ie:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/lst/active
Is that the case and if so should we be able to see that now or only after the 20th or only if the account has been moved to mandatory simple delivery?
Will it also be possible to edit those bands in the bulk editing page? (ie the page you get to if you select all > edit from the active page)

Can you give me guidance as to how the international visibility fee works please? Two of your customer service agents have told me its really no longer relevant as all items with worldwide international postage options are included on ebay.com? I really need an update and list to the info given in the 30-01-2015 titled "Message for sellers: Changes to International Site Visibility Fees" !

dave@ebay but that’s what I don’t understand, % went down upon receiving automated feedback, you’ve just said it should help? 🤷
Jo
@bojangled The evaluation is a rolling window, so older positive feedback also falls out of the calculation. Unfortunately, this can sometimes cause the one negative to have a bigger impact if the number of new positives is less than the number that fell off.
Luckily in your case there is only one negative so it will hopefully be gone soon, and you'll be back to 100%.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi wellingnorth, thanks for your post.
In the announcement we sent, we didn't say the layout of the page would be updated, and that's as much information as we can share for now. However, you won't see any changes before they take effect, which is on May 20th.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @cyclingjason090 ,
Appreciate your feedback and we understand new changes can take time to adjust and implement. It won't be optional but eBay will continue to work on adding great features for Simple Delivery.

Can Ebay add the option to simply enter the FINAL price, instead of the pre-BPF price, on the listing page?
So sellers can set the final price they want to sell at including the BPF.

Thank you - the rates I mentioned are what is shown in the new charge rate shared by eBay today?

If I remember correctly, the international visibility fee used to be an option to show your listings on other regions in the main search results and not at the end of the list in the separate section. I believe this was removed some time back.
You can now either list actively on the other region (and possibly have another listing fee but this gives a boost in best match) or passively by either using GSP or adding postage to you listing for the relevant region.
You can find more information on our selling internationally page.
Thanks,
Dave

HI I would but ,, The file DSCN7048.JPG exceeds the maximum file size of 2000K. Reduce the file size and try again.,, and have no clue how to , but there is the custom option as well as the £1.55 SD price so will this option with custom postage be staying ? this is still hit and miss with the postage , should not have mess with the old live listing and just started SD with new ones,

Hi @caerleon1959 ,
Thank you. I have just checked the rates part and it does show £3.38 for 1-2kg and £3.64 for 0-1kg. Let me get that checked and I will come back to confirm.
Thank you,
Kat
