Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 03.04.24 @2pm

Hi everybody!

 

The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible. 

 

Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!

 

Our eBay Community Team is made up of dave@ebay and anita@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. 

 

To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order, and will quote the original question in each answer.

Many sellers no longer use PayPal or have closed their accounts not mentioning the frequently reported tech problems associated with this. 

It seems strange that all the other postal labels can be paid for using seller balance or cards but not Royal Mail labels.

I know this is something thats being looked into. Unfortunately I don't know if or when there are plans to roll it out.

 

I mailed this to the shipping to see if I can get an update and Ill let you know as soon as I hear back.

Where can we find the setting to change it to buy labels from the seller funds instead of Paypal.

I did read about this on a help page the other day and this has reminded me to ask, as it is a pain having to keep topping up the Paypal account for this.

You should be able to access it by going through the help from the community tab at the top of every page?

 

I also just checked the featured posts and looks like it hasn't updated correctly. Ive forced a refresh so it should be showing correctly for you now.

Apologies that was my mistake. 

 

The calculation takes the account history into consideration, this can affect how the dispatch times are shown. The latest delivery date should better reflect the overall delivery time though.

I went back on eBay and never got my money. The red sign still comes up on eBay saying I need to verify my details! When this was done before! EBay even got the IT department involved!!


Alright so this is the second time I'm coming on this because I was lied to the first time so I'm begging for this to actually genuinely get sorted out. I am kindly asking for a call like last time as this is something that can't get sorted over the phone. PLEASE. EBay can't honestly be telling me that they are choosing to take my money from me.

Unfortunately this isn't something we can help with here. We don't have access to the payments systems , you will have to go through Customer Support for these types of issues.

Hi @ducatimondo 

 

The guys on the outreach teams will call the main number on your account when reaching out to you. It sounds like you have have phone updates selected in your marketing and communication preferences.

 

If you untick phone updates and promotions in the Marketing Communications section here it will stop them using that number. You can tick the option for emails and they will usually mail you to arrange a call.
