selling a paraglider

I recently advertised a paraglider with a reserve of £1500 I was charged £58 for the advert plus charges have been added to the listing reserve cost. I am a private seller.

Ebay mentioned there was a charge of £58 but i assumed this was when i sold it not before plus there is an added charge.

This seems outrageous and I would never have advertised it if i new the charge were this high.

They should not leaglly be allowed to change there charge system like this without making you fully aware.

I want a refund What should i do?

I will never use ebay again for selling, it always been ludicrously high but this is the last straw!

Re: selling a paraglider

Reserve fees are expensive which is why it's best just to make your start price the minimum you want to get for the item.   They are not usually refundable but it's always worth asking.    You can contact ebay and ask by requesting a callback on here:

When you list an item, you are offered the choice of using a reserve.

On the listing page, it states '

There is an 'i' for further information.

When you click on that, you can read:

'This is the lowest price you're willing to sell an item for. A non-refundable listing fee, charged when the listing goes live, applies whether or not the item sells.'

Only adults are allowed to sell on the site and it is your responsibility to read everything carefully, before you list your item for sale.

You can ask Ebay to cancel the charge, but there is no reason why they should.  I would suggest you ask very nicely.
